Montreal Junior Hockey Club
The Montreal Junior Hockey Club ('' French: Le Club de Hockey Junior de Montréal'') was a junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The team was based out of the Verdun Auditorium, in Verdun, Quebec, Canada. The St. John's Fog Devils franchise relocated at the conclusion of the 2007–08 QMJHL season. The team's colours were maroon and white, similar to the Montreal Maroons. The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League approved the sale of the Juniors to a group led by former NHL Defensemen Joel Bouchard who moved the team to Boisbriand, Quebec for the 2011–12 season. The team plays its games at the Centre d'Excellence Sports Rousseau and is known as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. Verdun, Quebec
Verdun (; , ) is a borough (''arrondissement'') of the city of Montreal, Quebec, located in the southwestern part of the island. Long known as a working class neighbourhood, it has experienced significant gentrification and social change in the 21st century. 2008–09 QMJHL Season
The 2008–09 QMJHL season was the 40th season of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The regular season began on September 11, 2008, and ended on March 15, 2009. The 2008 ADT Canada Russia Challenge series, featuring ''Team QMJHL'' versus the ''Russian Selects'', took place on November 17 and 19, 2008. Eighteen teams played 68 games each. The Drummondville Voltigeurs, who finished first overall in the regular season, went on to capture their first President's Cup vs. the Shawinigan Cataractes in a series they won 4–3. Eliezer "Elie" Alexeevich Sherbatov ( he, אליעזר שרבטוב; born 9 October 1991) is an Israeli-Canadian ice hockey player who plays for the Jonquière Marquis of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey, after having played for HC Mariupol of the Ukrainian Hockey League until the Russian invasion in February of 2022. Luke Adam (born June 18, 1990) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre who is currently playing with the Straubing Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). He previously played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Buffalo Sabres, Columbus Blue Jackets. Adam was drafted by Buffalo in the second round, 44th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
