Montreal Bleu Blanc Rouge
The Montreal Bleu Blanc Rouge (''Blue, White and Red'' in English) were a junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 1972 to 1975. They played at the Montreal Forum in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. History The Montreal Bleu Blanc Rouge were the result of several years of disputes between the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA). In 1972 the QMJHL threatened a lawsuit to force the Montreal Junior Canadiens to return to the Quebec-based league, after departing in 1961 for the OHA. Over the summer of 1972, the Junior Canadiens ownership were granted "one-year suspension" of operations by the OHA. The QMJHL then allowed team ownership to transfer the team and its players into the QMJHL for the 1972-73 season. To avoid litigation from the OHA by using the Junior Canadiens name, the team was renamed Montreal Bleu Blanc Rouge. Richard Gary Bowness (born January 25, 1955) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player who is the head coach of the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Bowness played right wing for the Atlanta Flames, Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues, and original Winnipeg Jets and Central Hockey League, American Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams. Bowness has been a head coach for the original Winnipeg Jets, Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators, New York Islanders, Phoenix Coyotes, Dallas Stars, and the second iteration of the Winnipeg Jets. Mike Wong
Michael Anthony Wong (born January 14, 1955 in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is an American retired ice hockey forward who played in 22 games for the Detroit Red Wings during the 1975–76 season. He is also a former Minnesota Golden Gloves boxing champion. He was drafted 7th (77th overall) in the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft. Wong is of Chinese descent. Professional career Wong played junior hockey in Minnesota and was called upon to join the American national junior team 1974 World Junior Championships. Joseph Daniel Mario Tremblay (born September 2, 1956) is a former professional ice hockey player and former coach in the National Hockey League (NHL). As a player, he was a five-time Stanley Cup winner with the Montreal Canadiens. He was honoured by his hometown of Alma, which named its local arena "Le Centre Mario-Tremblay". Jean Savard (born April 26, 1957) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played 45 games in the National Hockey League with the Chicago Black Hawks and Hartford Whalers between 1977 and 1980. Biography Savard was born in Verdun, Quebec. As a youth, he played in the 1969 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Verdun. He placed junior hockey in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, winning the scoring championship in 1976–77. Career Robert Picard established himself as a highly regarded defensive prospect with the Montreal Juniors and Montreal Bleu Blanc Rouge from 1973 to 1977. Joseph Julien Claude Pierre Mondou (born November 27, 1955) is a former Canadians, Canadian ice hockey forward (ice hockey), forward. Mondou played in the National Hockey League from 1976–77 NHL season, 1977 to 1984–85 NHL season, 1985. During this time, he played for the Montreal Canadiens his entire career. Michael George McDougal (born April 30, 1958) is an American former professional ice hockey forward. He played 61 games in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers and Hartford Whalers between 1978 and 1983. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1976 to 1984, was mainly spent in the minor leagues. Internationally McDougal played for the American national team at the 1977 and 1978 World Junior Championships.
