New Montgomery Street, formerly Montgomery Street South, begins at Market Street and terminates at Howard Street in the SOMA district of San Francisco, California. History Before New Montgomery Street was created, an inner street called ''Jane Street'' ran parallel to Second and Third Street. In the 1870s, ''Montgomery Street South'' was established in its place as the southern extension of Montgomery Street, one of the main thoroughfares in San Francisco's Financial District, running north from Market to Telegraph Hill. Market Street is a major thoroughfare in San Francisco, California. It begins at The Embarcadero in front of the Ferry Building at the northeastern edge of the city and runs southwest through downtown, passing the Civic Center and the Castro District, to the intersection with Portola Drive in the Twin Peaks neighborhood. Beyond this point, the roadway continues into the southwestern quadrant of San Francisco. Portola Drive extends south to the intersection of St. Francis Boulevard and Sloat Boulevard, where it continues as Junipero Serra Boulevard. Market Street is the boundary of two street grids. Little Montgomery Street Historic District
Little Montgomery Street Historic District is a national historic district in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is composed of approximately 15 19th century brick houses, some of which are double, that line the 100-block of West Montgomery Street and the northwestern portion of the 800 block of Leadenhall Street. All the buildings are small in scale and of brick construction, abut the sidewalks, are closely spaced, and are generally two to three stories high with two-bay façades. Nine of the structures are "half houses" that are only one room deep with a single pitch roof. The district is associated with a working class urban community where, throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries Baltimore's native poor, struggling German and Irish immigrants, and freed southern African-Americans lived side by side competing for the same space and the same railroad and port-related jobs. Montgomery Street is a prominent street in Savannah, Georgia, United States. Located between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to the west and Jefferson Street to the east, it runs for about from Williamson Street in the north to Duncan Drive in the south. The street is named for General Richard Montgomery, who served for the Confederate Army in the American Revolutionary War. Its directional flow is one-way south of West Liberty Street. In March 2019, the formerly one-way section between West Broughton Street and West Liberty Street was converted to two-way, largely to permit visitors to turn right onto West Oglethorpe Avenue in order to drop people off at the entrance to the new Cultural Arts Center. The Savannah Civic Center is a multi-purpose facility located in Savannah, Georgia, in Savannah Historic District. Built-in 1974, the facility consists of an arena, theatre, ballroom, and exhibit halls. Avenue C is a north-south avenue located in the Alphabet City area of the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, east of Avenue B and west of Avenue D. It is also known as Loisaida Avenue. It starts at South Street, proceeding north as Montgomery Street and Pitt Street, before intersecting East Houston Street and assuming its proper name.
