Montez Robinson
Montez Robinson is an American college basketball coach, currently serving as the head coach of Fort Valley State Basketball. He previously served as the interim. Head Coach of UT Martin Basketball. Playing career Robinson started his college career at Kemper Military, where he was a two-year starter and captain. He completed his playing career at North Georgia. Coaching career After graduation, Robinson started his coaching career at Truett McConnell, before joining Tony Ingle's staff at Kennesaw State, where he stayed until 2011. After five years on the staff of Bethune-Cookman, Robinson was named head coach at Alcorn State, taking over for Luther Riley Luther J. Riley (born December 4, 1971) is an American basketball coach. The Fort Valley State Wildcats are the athletic teams that represent Fort Valley State University, located in Fort Valley, Georgia, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The 2020–21 UT Martin Skyhawks men's basketball team represented the University of Tennessee at Martin during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Skyhawks, led by interim head coach Montez Robinson, played their home games at Skyhawk Arena in Martin, Tennessee as members of the Ohio Valley Conference. On November 15, 10 days before the scheduled start of the season, the school announced that head coach Anthony Stewart, who was entering his fifth year as head coach, had died suddenly. 2019–20 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Season
The 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 5, 2019. The first tournament was the 2K Sports Classic and the season concluded prematurely on March 12, 2020. The 2020 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was scheduled to end in Atlanta on April 6, 2020, but was ultimately canceled. All other postseason tournaments were canceled as well. Practices officially began in late September. On March 12, 2020, the NCAA announced that all remaining winter and spring championships for both men's and women's sports were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
