The Montenegrin volleyball Cup ( Montenegrin: ''Kup Crne Gore u odbojci'') is the national volleyball cup for men teams played in Montenegro. The Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG) ( Montenegrin: Odbojkaški savez Crne Gore) is the governing body of volleyball in Montenegro. It is based in Podgorica. The Montenegrin Volleyball League ( montenegrin: ''Odbojkaški savez Crne Gore'') is the highest level of men's volleyball in Montenegro and it is organized by Montenegrin Volleyball Federation. OK Budvanska Rivijera Budva was a professional volleyball team based in Budva, Montenegro, founded in 1978. It played in the Montenegrin Volleyball League. The club was dissolved in 2017. History The club was founded in 1978 as Avala Budva and took part in the 1982 regional championship of the Republic of Montenegro. From 1982 the team played in the second division of the SFR Yugoslavia. In 1991–92 the team finished in third place in the playoffs of the second division, but was still promoted due to the dissolution of the team Jugoslavija in the first division. Because of the disintegration of SFR Yugoslavia, the volleyball league was also reorganized and Avala was relegated to the B Division of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. An independence referendum was held in Montenegro on 21 May 2006. By 23 May, preliminary referendum results were recognized by all five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, suggesting widespread international recognition if Montenegro were to become formally independent. On 31 May, the referendum commission officially confirmed the results of the referendum, verifying that 55.5% of the population of Montenegrin voters had voted in favor of independence. Because voters met the controversial threshold requirement of 55% approval, the referendum was incorporated into a declaration of independence during a special parliamentary session on 31 May.
