Montenegrin Cup
The Montenegrin Cup ( Montenegrin and Serbian: ''Kup Crne Gore'') is the national football cup played in Montenegro, established in 2006. The winner of the cup is awarded a spot in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League if they have not already gained a spot in the UEFA Champions League. Most successful participant until now was FK Rudar with four titles, followed by FK Budućnost with three and OFK Titograd who won it twice. History Before independence Since 1946, Montenegrin football clubs played in the SFR Yugoslavia football system, so in the period 1947-1992 they participated in Yugoslav Cup. From 1992 to 2006, teams from Montenegro played in the Cup competition of FR Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro. 2022–23 Montenegrin Cup
The 2022–23 Montenegrin Cup was the 17th edition of the knockout football tournament in Montenegro. This season's cup was started on 7 September 2022. The winners of the cup this season earned a place in the first qualifying round of the 2023–24 UEFA Europa Conference League. Budućnost were the defending champions from the previous season after defeating Dečić in the final by the score of 1–0. Match times up to 30 October 2022 and from 26 March 2023 were CEST (UTC+2). Montenegrin Independence Referendum, 2006
An independence referendum was held in Montenegro on 21 May 2006. Nohlen, D & Stöver, P (2010) ''Elections in Europe: A data handbook'', p1372 It was approved by 55.5% of voters, narrowly passing the 55% threshold. By 23 May, preliminary referendum results were recognized by all five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, suggesting widespread international recognition if Montenegro were to become formally independent. On 31 May, the referendum commission officially confirmed the results of the referendum, verifying that 55.5% of the population of Montenegrin voters had voted in favor of independence. Because voters met the controversial threshold requirement of 55% approval, the referendum was incorporated into a declaration of independence during a special parliamentary session on 31 May. FK Mogren
FK Mogren was a football club based in Budva, Montenegro. Founded in 1920, it was two times champion of Montenegrin First League and once winner of Montenegrin Cup. In 2015, following the bankruptcy and debts, FK Mogren was relegated to the lowest-rank competition of football in Montenegro. In March 2017, FK Mogren was expelled from South region of the Third Montenegrin league. Mogren was extiguinshed in 2017. Group of enthusiasts tried to register new club under the name Mogren 1920, but Ministry of Sports did not allow them. Instead, ''FK Budva'' was founded and started with youth sections. 2007–08 Montenegrin Cup
The 2007–08 Montenegrin Cup was the second season of the Montenegrin knockout football tournament. The winner of the tournament received a berth in the first qualifying round of the 2008–09 UEFA Cup. The defending champions were Rudar, who beat Sutjeska in the final of the 2006–07 competition. The competition featured 30 teams. It started on 2 October 2007 and ended with the final on 7 May 2008. First round The 14 matches were played on 2 and 3 October 2007. Second round The first legs were played on 24 October and the second legs were played on 7 November 2007, with the exception of the second leg match between Sutjeska and Mogren, which was postponed until 28 November 2007. Golubovci
Golubovci ( cnr, Голубовци, ) is a small town in the Podgorica Municipality of Montenegro. It has 3,110 residents according to 2011 census, while the ''Golubovci City Municipality'' accounts for some 16,093 residents. Transport Sometimes Podgorica Airport is referred as to Golubovci Airport by locals, the airport being just 5 km away from the town. Golubovci is located next to the M-2, Podgorica - Bar road ( E65/ E80), main Montenegrin road connection between the coast and northern part of the country. Part of this road went through the centre of Golubovci causing frequent traffic jams during the summer tourist season which led to construction of 4-lane dual carriageway, the Golubovci Bypass, in 2018. FK Zeta is a football club from Golubovci, a suburb of Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro. It plays in the Montenegrin Second League. The club was the inaugural champion of the Montenegrin First League in 2006–07 season. History Period 1927-1997 The club was formed in 1927 under the name ''FK Danica''. Omladinski fudbalski klub Grbalj (, ) is a Montenegro, Montenegrin association football, football club based in the small town of Radanovići, Kotor, Radanovići, municipality of Kotor. They currently compete in the Montenegrin Second League. History The first football club in Radanovići, which existed only few seasons, was founded in 1970. FK Berane
Fudbalski klub Berane (Cyrillic: Фудбалски клуб Беране) is a Montenegrin football club based in Berane. Established at 1920, the club plays in the Second League of Montenegro. History FK Berane was founded in 1920, as one of the first football clubs in Northern Montenegro and Sandžak region. In the period before World War II, they were the most successful football team from the north. During the 1920s, as other neighbouring clubs mostly played friendlies, FK Berane participated in official competitions of Montenegro. Fudbalski klub Sutjeska (Serbian Cyrillic: Фудбалски клуб Сутјеска) is football club from Nikšić, Montenegro, currently competing in the Montenegrin First League. Montenegrin Regional Cups
The Montenegrin Regional Cups ( cg, Crnogorski regionalni kupovi, italics=yes) are the lower football competitions in which are participating members of Montenegrin Third League. There are three regional cups - Northern, Central and Southern ( Montenegrin: ''Kup Sjeverne regije; Kup Srednje regije; Kup Južne regije''). Montenegrin Third League
The Third League of Montenegro ( Montenegrin: Treća Crnogorska Liga / Трећа црногорска лига) is the third and lowest-tier football league in Montenegro. It is headed by the regional unions of the Football Association of Montenegro (Union of the clubs - North, Union of the clubs - Center, Union of the clubs - South), under the Football Association of Montenegro.
