Montenegrin Basketball Cup
The Montenegrin Basketball Cup is an annual cup competition for Montenegrin basketball teams held since 2007. History Montenegrin clubs in Yugoslav Cup Before the Montenegrin independence in 2006, clubs from Montenegro played in national Cup of Yugoslavia. Most successful was KK Budućnost with three trophies won. First time, Budućnost won the trophy at final-four 1996 in Nikšić, defeating KK Partizan (126–115) in the final. Two years later, Budućnost won the final four, again in Nikšić (final match against KK Beobanka - 78:71). Last title of Yugoslav Cup winner, Budućnost gained in Vršac (2001) against KK Partizan (87–72). Below is a list of Yugoslav Cup trophies won by Montenegrin clubs. KK Sutjeska Nikšić
KK Sutjeska is a men's professional basketball club based in Nikšić, Montenegro. The team currently competes in Montenegrin Basketball League and regional ABA League. The club won the Montenegrin Cup in 2014. History KK Sutjeska was established in 1948. The first basic basketball elements given to the youth of Nikšić were brought by Vojislav Spasojević, a basketball coach from Belgrade. Immediately after the initiative was taken, Vule Vukalović joined the team's administrative team along with the help of international referee Dragan Jakšić—and a serious basketball team began to take form. The first competition in which KK Sutjeska participated in was in 1950, in a Montenegro-wide championship held in Cetinje, where Sutjeska beat Jedinstvo 24–20. The Montenegrin Women's Basketball Cup is the national women's basketball cup of Montenegro. It has been played for since 2006. Prva B Liga
The Prva B Liga, also known as Second Montenegrin League, is the second-tier of domestic basketball league system in Montenegro. The competition was founded in 2006. History and format During its first season, Prva B Liga (which means First B League) was organized through two groups. But, during the last season, there is one competition. The winner gains promotion to the Montenegrin Basketball League and the runner-up plays with the bottom five teams of the regular season of the First Erste League. The bottom two teams from the play-out group relegate to the Second League.
