Mont-Sainte-Anne is a ski resort in eastern Canada, located in the town of Beaupré, Quebec, about northeast of Quebec City. The mountain is part of the Laurentian mountain chain and has a summit elevation of above sea level with a vertical drop of . For day skiing, there are 71 available downhill ski trails covering the southern, northern and western sides of the mountain. For night skiing, there are 19 trails covering the southern part of the mountain only. It is the highest vertical for night skiing in Canada. The average natural snowfall at the summit is . History Ten trails and four lifts (including a gondola) were featured on the mountain inauguration day in 1966 on January 16. Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré is a town in La Côte-de-Beaupré Regional County Municipality, Quebec, Canada, along the Saint Lawrence River, north-east of Quebec City. Description ski area is located in Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, Charlevoix, Quebec, a 50-minute drive from Quebec City. Its vertical drop is , the highest in Eastern Canada and east of the Rockies. It is one of the few ski areas that is accessible from both the base and summit. Skiing season usually lasts from early December to late April. Stoneham Mountain Resort is a ski resort, located north of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, in the municipality of Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury. Nineteen trails are available for night skiing, consisting in the largest network of night skiing in Canada. The resort is owned by Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. Snowmaking is the production of snow by forcing water and pressurized air through a "snow gun", also known as a "snow cannon". Snowmaking is mainly used at ski resorts to supplement natural snow. This allows ski resorts to improve the reliability of their snow cover and to extend their ski seasons from late autumn to early spring. Indoor ski slopes use snowmaking.
