Monster In The Machine
Monster in the Machine was an American alternative rock band featuring Shannon Crawford (formerly of Cellophane) on vocals, keyboards and guitar, John Chase (also formerly of Cellophane) on guitar, Jay Kuri on drums and Lats (formerly of Memento) on bass. Along with the band Droid, they were one of the first two acts signed to Emotional Syphon Recordings in 2006 when Korn guitarist James Shaffer started the independent label. Their first album released on August 21, 2007, was titled ''Butterfly Pinned''. It featured guest spots from James Shaffer and Imani Coppola, while bassist Doug Ardito and drummer Josh Freese also contributed to the album. The lead single off the album was titled "Savior", for which they also released an official video. "Under Your Shadow" was the second and final single. Cellophane (band)
Cellophane was an alternative metal/ rock band from California. They released a single eponymous album in 1997. History Cellophane started in 1995 after singer/songwriter Shannon Crawford convinced Ross Robinson to produce a demo recording of some of his songs. Robinson agreed after hearing a demo previously made by Crawford, and suggested that bass player Doug Ardito, drummer Mark Bistany, and guitar player John Chase work with Crawford. Upon finishing the recordings, the band played shows in the Los Angeles area and shopped the demos, ultimately signing with Virgin Records. After a small club tour, an appearance on the 1996 Ozzfest bill followed, and Virgin suggested that producer Howard Benson record the début album, ''Cellophane'' (1997). Memento (band)
Memento is an Australian hard rock band based out of the United States. Formed in 2001, the band disbanded in 2004 after the release of their debut album. After a two-year absence, the band re-emerged in 2006 under the name Nine Times Bodyweight, which itself disbanded after a year and without any further releases. History Formation Formed in 2001, Memento was composed of Australian natives in vocalist-keyboardist Justin Stewart Cotta, guitarist Space (Jason Smith), bassist Leighton "Lats" Kearns, and American drummer Steve Clark. Korn
Korn (stylized as KoЯn, or occasionally KoRn) is an American nu metal band from Bakersfield, California, formed in 1993. James Shaffer
James Christian Shaffer (born June 6, 1970), also known by his stage name "Munky", is an American musician best known as co-founder and guitarist of the nu metal band Korn. He has cited Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen, and Randy Rhoads as some of his influences. Shaffer set up the side-project band Fear and the Nervous System in 2008 and is also the founder of Emotional Syphon Recordings, who have signed acts like Monster in the Machine and Droid. Douglas John Ardito (born March 10, 1971) is an American musician who was a member and played guitar as well as bass guitar for the band Puddle of Mudd. He is a Fender Musical Instruments endorsed artist. Career Ardito co-wrote Puddle of Mudd's biggest single, "Blurry". Joshua Ryan Freese (born December 25, 1972) is an American session drummer. He is the son of tuba soloist Stan Freese and the older brother of musician Jason Freese.
