''Monster'' is the thirteenth mixtape by American rapper Future. It was released on October 28, 2014 by Freebandz Entertainment. Along with '' Beast Mode'' and ''56 Nights'', it is considered one of "a trilogy of album-quality mixtapes" that Future released following '' Honest''. The mixtape was executive produced by producer Metro Boomin. On October 28, 2019, ''Monster'' was released onto streaming platforms in celebration of five years since release, excluding the tracks "Intro", "Abu's Boomin" and "Fuck Up Some Commas"; the latter of which is available on streaming services through Future's 2015 album '' DS2''. Critical reception In ''Vice'', Robert Christgau gave ''Monster'' a "B+" and described it as "strong like pop so seldom is. Vulnerable like pop so seldom is too." Sam C. Nayvadius DeMun Cash (born Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn; born November 20, 1983), better known by the stage name Future, is an American rapper. Known for his mumble-styled vocals and prolific output, Future is considered a pioneer of the use of melody and auto-tune in modern trap music. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Future signed a recording contract with A1 Recordings and Epic Records in 2011, and released the albums ''Pluto'' (2012) and '' Honest'' (2014), which contained the platinum singles " Turn On the Lights", " Honest", "Move That Dope" (featuring Pharrell Williams and Pusha T), and "I Won" (featuring Kanye West). Pitchfork
A pitchfork (also a hay fork) is an agricultural tool with a long handle and two to five tines used to lift and pitch or throw loose material, such as hay, straw, manure, or leaves. The term is also applied colloquially, but inaccurately, to the garden fork. Seth Chaim Firkins (August 5, 1981 – September 23, 2017) was an American audio engineer. Firkins engineered songs for artists such as Rihanna, Future, Young Thug, Jay-Z, Trina, Ciara, and Gucci Mane. Career Firkins was exposed at an early age to a diverse range of music, from 1970s rock like America and Steely Dan, to classical composers such as Chopin and Beethoven. He started his career in the Rock and roll genre with the Louisville-based band Heaven Hill, originally known as Element H and later Breckinridge. Firkins created the band's street team which grew into a group of nearly 400 workers and volunteers. It featured rappers Jay-Z and Master P on a double cover.
