Monrose
Monrose was a German pop girl group, first established in November 2006. Formed on the fifth installment of the German adaption of the international television talent show ''Popstars'', the trio consisted of singers Mandy Capristo, Senna Gammour, and Bahar Kızıl. They were signed to Starwatch Music and released their debut album ''Temptation'' in December 2006. It achieved major success throughout Central Europe, selling more than a 600,000 copies combined and produced two singles, including number-one breakthrough hit "Shame" and "Even Heaven Cries". Their second studio album, '' Strictly Physical'', was released in September 2007 following the release of their second chart-topper " Hot Summer", and certified double gold the next year. Hot Summer (song)
"Hot Summer" is a song by German pop group Monrose. It was written and produced by Danish musicians Remee Sigvardt and Thomas Troelsen and recorded by the trio for their second studio album, '' Strictly Physical'' (2007). A dance-pop song with heavy elements of electropop, house and sprechgesang, it was selected out of sereral hundreds of songs and set much of the tone of its parent album, which was chiefly produced by Remee and Troelsen. "Hot Summer" also introduced a stronger dance pop edge to Monrose's overall sound. Lyrically, it features a female protagonist expressing her desire for her love interest. ''Strictly Physical'' is the second studio album by all-female German pop trio Monrose. It was released by Starwatch Music in association with Cheyenne Records and Warner Music on 21 September 2007 in German-speaking Europe and on 8 October 2007 in parts of Eastern Europe. Released only nine months after its best-selling predecessor ''Temptation'' (2006), the album took Monrose's work further into dance and electro music, featuring main production by Danish producers Remee, Thomas Troelsen, and Peter Biker, as well as British composers from production collectives Jiant, and Snowflakers. Ladylike
''Ladylike'' is the fourth and final studio album by German pop trio Monrose. It was released by Starwatch Music in association with Cheyenne Records and the Warner Music Group on 11 June 2010 in German-speaking Europe. Conceived during a hiatus which allowed each member to launch solo projects, production of the album began in mid-2009. Unlike their previous material, recording of ''Ladylike'' was not rushed, with sessions also taking place in New York City. Mandy Capristo
Mandy Grace Capristo (born 21 March 1990), also known mononymously as Mandy, is a German singer and songwriter. Born in Mannheim and raised in Bürstadt, Capristo was first exposed to singing and dancing competitions in 2001, when she won ''Kiddy Contest'', a reality television singing competition for teens in Austria, with her song ''Ich wünsche mir einen Bankomat''. In the mid to late 2000s, Capristo rose to fame as a founding member of the girl band Monrose, the result of the fifth season of the German television talent show Popstars. It was penned by Robbie Nevil, Lauren Evans, Philip Denker, Jonas Jeberg, and Jens Lumholt for the group's debut studio album, ''Temptation'' (2006). Senna Gammour ( Guemmour; born 28 December 1979), also known mononymously as Senna, is a German singer, television personality and presenter. She was a member of the girl group Monrose. Early life Gammour was born in Frankfurt to a Moroccan mother and Algerian father. She grew up in the housing estate of Frankfurt-Nordweststadt. Gammour's father died in 1992. Shaped by her life in the urban area, Gammour became interested in hip hop culture and music; she also worked as a waitress and started a commercial training in the wholesale and export trades. Bahar Kızıl
Bahar Kizil (Turkish: ''Bahar Kızıl''; born 5 October 1988) is a German singer and songwriter of Turkish descent, best known as one of the founding members of the girl group Monrose, which won the fifth season of the German version of ''Popstars''. Early life Born in Freiburg, Baden-Württemberg, Kizil is from a Turkish family from Antalya, and her first name, Bahar, means "spring" (the season) in Turkish. At age 12, she started with ballet.
