''Monologue of Love'' is the studio album by Soviet singer Sofia Rotaru, released in 1987 by Melodiya. The long play album was simultaneously released for the Soviet and international market. The album includes songs performed in Russian with new rock style arrangements by leading Soviet pop and rock bands: Vesyolye Rebyata, Forum, Chervona Ruta. This album is a soundtrack album to the movie Monologue of Love released in 1986. Vladimir Leonardovich Matetsky (russian: link=no, Владимир Леонардович Матецкий; born May 14, 1952, in Moscow) is a Russian and Soviet composer, producer, and radio presenter. Matetsky is a member of the Russian Authors' Society. He is married and has one daughter, Maria (born 1987) and son, Leonid (born 2001). Matetsky started to take music classes under the direction of Sofija Moisseevna Karpilovskaya, a student of Elena Fabianovna Gnesina. Vladimir learned to play guitar just as piano. He was particularly influenced by The Beatles. At the end of the 1960s, Matetsky started to play in various rock bands, piano, guitar, bass-guitar. Around the same time he first started writing songs–unusually, in English rather than Russian. ''Monologue of Love'' is a Soviet musical telefilm, written by Grigore Vieru and directed by Larisa Maslyuk, starring Sofia Rotaru in the main role. The movie filmed at Ukretelefilm (Ukrainian Studio of Television Films - ''Gosteleradio'' 1986) in Crimea (Ukrainian SSR), Kazakh SSR and Lithuanian SSR, features the new conception in the Soviet musical telefilms: substantial poetry monologues recited by Sofia Rotaru on themes associated with love, followed by thematic songs and corresponding natural geographical and theatrical scenic setting. Plot The conceptual base are the poetic monologues read by Sofia Rotaru playing herself, singer. The monologues were read by Sofia Rotaru in Russian, whereas their author, G. Chervona Ruta (ensemble)
Chervona Ruta was a Ukrainian music group that performed between 1971 and 1990. Chervona Ruta group was created in 1971 by Anatoliy Evdokimenko with the Chernivtsi Philharmonic specially for the accompaniment of Sofia Rotaru. The founding members of the group were part of the pop orchestra of the Chernivtsi University. For a long time, outside performances of the group by itself at occasional tours, Chervona Ruta was overshadowed by the People's Artist of Ukraine, People's Artist of Moldova, People's Artist of USSR - Sofia Rotaru. After Sofia Rotaru, other widely popular artists as Arkadiy Khoralov and Meritorious Artist of Moldova Anastasia Lazariuc started their career with Chervona Ruta. Vesyolye Rebyata (russian: Весёлые Ребята, which means "''jolly fellows''") was a Soviet VIA (vocal instrumental ensemble) band formed in 1966, in Moscow. It became one of the most successful and best known VIA bands of all time. Its debut album sold 15,795,000 copies and its membership included at various times such popular Soviet era singers as Alla Pugachova, Alexander Gradsky, and Alexander Barykin. As of 2006, the band had sold a record-shattering 179,850,000 records. History Vesyolye Rebyata was a VIA band created in 1966 by the Soviet pianist and composer Pavel Slobodkin. "Lavanda" (russian: Лава́нда, English: Lavender) is one of the major hits of Sofia Rotaru, a popular song for duet performance of 1985.
