Monique Wadsted is a Swedish lawyer. She is a partner at Bird & Bird in Stockholm. Career Wadsted received an LLM from Stockholm University in 1988 and clerked for the Stockholm District Court in 1989–90. Before moving to Bird & Bird, she was a partner at Magnusson Wahlin Qvist Stanbrook (MAQS) Advokatbyrå. In 2017, she was named one of the top 250 women in intellectual property law by '' Managing Intellectual Property.'' Monique Wadsted is since 2017 included in the Hall of Fame of The Legal 500 for her work in intellectual property law and media law. The Pirate Bay Trial
The Pirate Bay trial was a joint criminal and civil prosecution in Sweden of four individuals charged for promoting the copyright infringement of others with the torrent tracking website The Pirate Bay. The criminal charges were supported by a consortium of intellectual rights holders led by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), who filed individual civil compensation claims against the owners of The Pirate Bay. Swedish prosecutors filed charges on 31 January 2008 against Fredrik Neij, Gottfrid Svartholm, and Peter Sunde, who ran the site; and Carl Lundström, a Swedish businessman who through his businesses sold services to the site. The prosecutor claimed the four worked together to administer, host, and develop the site and thereby facilitated other people's breach of copyright law. V Film is a group of premium movie channels broadcasting in the Nordic countries owned by Viaplay Group. History Viasat Film was started by Kinnevik on 27 August 1989 as TV1000, using one of the sixteen transponders on Astra 1A, the very first Astra satellite. In June 1991 TV1000 announced that they channel would merge with another pay movie channel called SF Succé. This gave the channel a content boost with several Swedish films. It also made TV1000 more able to compete with FilmNet which was the leading premium channel at the time. The merger took place on 1 September 1991.
