''Monica Adventures'' (''Turma da Mônica Jovem'') is a Brazilian comic created in August 2008 by Mauricio de Sousa. The series features the characters from ''Monica's Gang'' as teenagers. In January 2019, the series began to be published in the United States by the publisher Papercutz. Plot The plot is centered on the four teenagers. Typical elements of the teenage life are: love, school, friends, nightclubs and problems to face. Although, the adventures do not finish for them all. Papercutz (publisher)
Papercutz Graphic Novels is an American publisher of family-friendly comic books and graphic novels, mostly based on licensed properties such as Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, and Lego Ninjago. Papercutz has also published new volumes of the Golden Age of Comic Books, Golden Age-era comics series ''Classics Illustrated'' and ''Tales from the Crypt (comics), Tales from the Crypt''. In recent years they have begun publishing English translations of European (mostly Bandes dessinées, Franco-Belgian) all-ages comics, including ''The Smurfs (comics), The Smurfs'' and ''Asterix''. They publish several titles through their imprint Super Genius. Mauricio De Sousa
Mauricio Araújo de Sousa (; born October 27, 1935) is a Brazilian cartoonist and businessman who has created over 200 characters for his popular series of children's comic books named "Turma da Mônica" or "Monica's Gang (Currently known as: Monica and friends)". At 17 years of age, he worked for a daily newspaper called ''Folha de S. Paulo, Folha da Manhã'' as a crime reporter. In 1959, Sousa quit that job and began his comic book career, and created ''Monica's Gang''. Sousa's characters were inspired by children he knew from his childhood and by his own children. His later style is slightly reminiscent of that of Osamu Tezuka, a famous Japanese Mangaka, manga artist and personal friend. Monica's Gang
''Monica's Gang'' or ''Monica and Friends'' (Portuguese: ''Turma da Mônica''; British English: ''Monica & Friends'') is a Brazilian comic book series and media franchise created by Mauricio de Sousa. The series originated in a newspaper comic strip, named in the epoch as ''Blu'', in which the protagonists were Blu (''Bidu'') and Franklin (''Franjinha''), launched by the newspaper Folha da Manhã in 1959. As the series continued, the central characters became Jimmy Five (''Cebolinha'') and Monica (''Mônica''), both of whom began to appear in eponymous series in addition to the renamed ''Monica’s Gang'' (''Turma da Mônica''). The English title of the series was later changed to ''Monica and Friends''.
