MondoCon
MondoCon is an annual celebration of the collectible artwork and artists at Mondo, the poster and T-shirt wing of the Alamo Drafthouse, held in Austin, Texas, United States. It offers exclusive items, panels, exhibitor booths and screenings with filmmakers and artists. History MondoCon was conceived as a spin-off from Fantastic Fest, with the first two years taking place on the weekends of the event, before branching out to its own weekend. MondoCon 2014 ran September 20–21 for about 2,000 people and coincided with the first weekend of Fantastic Fest. It featured a premiere of scenes from '' 2001: A Space Odyssey'' with composer Alex North's original score re-inserted. William Stout revealed information about an unproduced ''Godzilla'' remake written by Fred Dekker that was to be directed by Steve Miner. ''Future Shock! Alamo Drafthouse
The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is an American cinema chain founded in 1997 in Austin, Texas, which is famous for serving dinner and drinks during the movie, as well as its strict policy of requiring its audiences to maintain proper cinema-going etiquette. It has multiple locations across the United States, including eighteen (with several more being built) across Texas. Mondo is an American company known for releasing limited edition screen printed posters for films, television shows, and comics, as well as vinyl movie soundtracks, clothing and apparel, toys, and re-issues of VHS releases. Founded in 2004 as Mondo Tees, the company is a former subsidiary of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema chain in Austin, Texas, and currently hosts a permanent gallery space there which features original artwork and custom posters. Francesco Francavilla is an Italian comic book artist known for his creator-owned series '' The Black Beetle'' and pulp-inspired comic covers. Jay Ryan (artist)
Jay Ryan (born June 15, 1972, in St. Louis, Missouri) is a poster maker and rock musician. He is noted for his squirrel posters as well as being a bassist in the band Dianogah. Working in Skokie, Illinois, Ryan produces limited run, hand-printed posters for rock bands and concerts, and for events such as art shows. Most of his work is screen printed at his print shop, The Bird Machine. Arik Moonhawk Roper (born 1973) is a freelance illustrator and painter based in New York City. Roper grew up in Richmond, Virginia. His parents both being artists, his creativity was encouraged and he spent a great deal of time during childhood drawing. After graduating from the School of Visual Arts in 1995 specializing in cartooning, illustration, and silk-screening, he began as a freelance storyboard artist for various ad agencies, and a storyboard revisionist for MTV Animation. Alex Pardee is an American freelance artist, apparel designer, and comics creator writer, best known for illustrating the Used's album artwork.
