Monastery Of Santa Maria De Vallbona
Vallbona Abbey, otherwise the Monastery of Santa Maria de Vallbona ( ca, Santa Maria de Vallbona de les Monges; es, El Real Monasterio de Santa María de Vallbona), is a Cistercian nunnery in Vallbona de les Monges, in the comarca of Urgell, Catalonia, Spain. Founded in the early 12th century, and built between then and the 14th century, it is one of the most important monastic sites in Catalonia. Its church represents an example of transition between Romanesque architecture, Romanesque and Gothic architecture. The abbey was declared a National Monument (Spain), national monument on 3 June 1931. Together with the monasteries of Poblet Abbey, Poblet and of Santes Creus it forms part of the Cistercian Route. Anglesola
Anglesola is a village in the province of Lleida and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. Population According to data from 2006, Anglesola had a population of 1303 inhabitants. History Anglesola was first mentioned in 1079, in a document in which Ramón Berenguer II and Berenguer Ramón II ceded the lands to Berenguer Gombau for its repopulation. It became the center of the barony of Anglesola, decisive in the Catalan reconquest. The lineage of the barony took the name of the castle. Queralbs () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Ripollès in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the Pyrenees to the north of Ribes de Freser, near the peaks of Puigmal (2909 m), Infern (2896 m) and Noufonts (2864 m). Tourism and hydroelectricity are the bases of the local economy. Cardona is a town in the Spanish region of Catalonia, in the province of Barcelona; about northwest of the city of Barcelona, on a hill almost surrounded by the river Cardener, a branch of the Llobregat. To the east of the town, the river has been diverted through a tunnel has been dug through a spur, leaving a loop of dry river bed near the saltmine. Near the town is an extensive deposit of rock salt. The County of Urgell ( ca, Comtat d'Urgell, ; la, Comitatus Urgellensis) is one of the historical Catalan counties, bordering on the counties of Pallars and Cerdanya. Ermengol VII (or Armengol VII) (died 1184) was the Count of Urgell from 1154 to his death. He was called ''el de Valencia''. The son of Ermengol VI and his first wife, Arsenda of Cabrera, in 1157, Ermengol VII married Dulce, daughter of Roger III of Foix and Jimena de Osona, who acted as his regent during his absences in Castile. Without any possibility of expansion into surrounding territory, Ermengol was attracted to the Castilian possessions that he inherited from his grandmother.
