Monalisa (film)
''Monalisa'' is a 2004 Indian Kannada-language romance film written and directed by Indrajit Lankesh. The film stars Dhyan and Sadha in lead roles and prominent actors such as Darshan and Rekha Vedavyas have done cameo appearances. The film's storyline is inspired by ''Parthiban Kanavu'' (2003). The film was a blockbuster upon release and also received critical appreciation. It went on to win numerous awards at the Filmfare Awards South and Karnataka State Film Awards for the year 2004. It was also dubbed into Telugu with the same title with a reshot comedy track involving Brahmanandam and Kovai Sarala. Indrajit Lankesh is an Indian filmmaker, producer, and director of Kannada and Hindi films. He is also the publisher of the weekly Kannada tabloid ''Lankesh Patrike''. He is the son of iconic writer, journalist and film maker P. Lankesh. Lankesh comes from a prominent family of journalists and media publishers. Umashree (born 10 May 1957) is an Indian actress and politician. She is known for her portrayal of film roles spoken in the Kannada language (over 400), particularly comic roles. Karthik (born 7 November 1980) is an Indian playback singer and composer. Karthik started his professional singing career as a backing vocalist and has since been working as a playback singer.
