Monaco Heliport
Monaco Heliport (french: Héliport de Monaco, ), also known as Monte Carlo Heliport, is a heliport situated in the district of Fontvieille in the Principality of Monaco. The heliport is the only aviation facility within Monaco. It was opened with the support of Prince Rainier III in 1976, with only one helipad, later expanded. The only scheduled destination is Nice Côte d'Azur Airport in Nice, France. Both arrivals and departures are routed over the water, to minimize noise. Location The heliport is located directly on the Mediterranean coastline in the vicinity of the Stade Louis II. Facilities The heliport has been expanded to eight pads since its opening in 1987, with pads A and B jutted out over the sea. There is a single terminal structure at the heliport, and four hangar facilities, three on the east and one on the west side of the heliport. Stade Louis II
The Stade Louis II () is a stadium located in the Fontvieille district of Monaco. It serves primarily as a venue for football, being the home of AS Monaco and the Monaco national football team. The stadium is most notable for its distinctive nine arches at the away end of the ground. The arena is also used for the Herculis, a track and field meet of the Diamond League. The stadium hosted the 1986 and 1998–2012 UEFA Super Cup matches. Due to Monaco's small size, the stadium is the only football and athletics stadium in the country. Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco (CAM) is the main public transport operator in Monaco. The company operates 6 regular bus lines, a night service, the Boat-Bus service and several school reinforcements. History The Compagnie des Tramways de Monaco (CTM), created in 1897, operated several tramway lines during its existence. The trams circulated for the last time on January 26, 1931, before being replaced by buses. In 1939, the CAM succeeded the network of the former CTM. In 2019 CAM started collaboration with Canadian company PBSC Solutions Urbaines to provide the Principality with a possibility to get around easily and in an environmentally friendly manner. Heli Air Monaco is the flag carrier of Monaco. History Heli Air Monaco was founded in 1976 with the support of Prince Rainier III, and began operations from the Monaco Heliport, located in the Fontvieille quarter of Monaco, from where it now operates regular shuttle services between Monaco Heliport and Nice Airport (an average 24 transfers a day), and offers on request flights from Monaco and Nice to other European destinations including the Alps, Corsica, the French Riviera, Italy and Switzerland. Initial services were operated with a single Enstrom F-28 helicopter, and in the first year of operations the airline flew 747 passengers. In order to meet demand a Bell 206 JetRanger was acquired in 1976, and by 1980 15,237 passengers had been carried.
