Mona Lisa Overdrive
''Mona Lisa Overdrive'' is a science fiction novel by American-Canadian writer William Gibson, published in 1988. It is the final novel of the cyberpunk Sprawl trilogy, following ''Neuromancer'' and ''Count Zero'', taking place eight years after the events of the latter. The novel was nominated for the Nebula Award for Best Novel, the Hugo Award for Best Novel, and the Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel in 1989. Plot Taking place eight years after the events of ''Count Zero'' and fifteen years after ''Neuromancer'', the story is formed from several interconnecting plot threads, and also features characters from Gibson's previous works (such as Molly Millions, the razor-fingered mercenary from ''Neuromancer''). William Gibson
William Ford Gibson (born March 17, 1948) is an American-Canadian speculative fiction writer and essayist widely credited with pioneering the science fiction subgenre known as ''cyberpunk''. Beginning his writing career in the late 1970s, his early works were noir, near-future stories that explored the effects of technology, cybernetics, and computer networks on humans—a "combination of lowlife and high tech"—and helped to create an iconography for the information age before the ubiquity of the Internet in the 1990s. Gibson coined the term " cyberspace" for "widespread, interconnected digital technology" in his short story "Burning Chrome" (1982), and later popularized the concept in his acclaimed debut novel ''Neuromancer'' (1984). Mark Pauline (born December 14, 1953) is an American performance artist and inventor, best known as founder and director of Survival Research Laboratories. He is a 1977 graduate of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. Pauline founded SRL in 1978 and it is considered the premier practitioner of "industrial performing arts", and the forerunner of large scale machine performance. SRL is known for producing the most dangerous shows on earth. Although acknowledged as a major influence on popular competitions pitting remote-controlled robots and machines against each other, such as ''BattleBots'' and '' Robot Wars'', Pauline shies away from rules-bound competition preferring a more anarchic approach. ''Mona Lisa Overdrive'' is the 13th album by Buck-Tick, released on February 13, 2003. The album title is mistakenly thought to have been inspired by William Gibson's cyberpunk novel of the same name but guitarist Hisashi Imai originally confused it with Robert Longo's work ''Samurai Overdrive'', which inspired the album title. It reached number seven on the Oricon chart with 31,235 copies sold. The album is thematically connected to the previous release, '' Kyokutou I Love You'': the last instrumental song in ''Kyokutou I Love You'' gives the musical foundation to the first song in ''Mona Lisa Overdrive'', while the base of the last song of this album recurs in the first song of ''Kyokutou I Love You''. Buck-Tick (stylized as BUCK-TICK) is a Japanese Rock music, rock band, formed in Fujioka, Gunma in 1983. The group has consisted of lead vocalist Atsushi Sakurai, lead guitarist Hisashi Imai, rhythm guitarist Hidehiko Hoshino, bassist Yutaka Higuchi (musician), Yutaka Higuchi and drummer Toll Yagami since 1985. The band has experimented with many different genres of music throughout their three decade career, including punk rock, industrial rock and gothic rock. Travis Miller (born May 13, 1984) is an American rapper, singer and record producer from Richmond, Virginia. He has recorded under multiple aliases in various genres since his first known released project in 2005, including Lil Ugly Mane, Shawn Kemp, Vudmurk and Bedwetter. Miller rose to popularity in the early 2010s with an experimental approach to Southern hip hop. His debut album '' Mista Thug Isolation'' gained him notoriety in the underground hip hop scene. ''Mista Thug Isolation'' is the debut studio album by rapper Lil Ugly Mane. It was self-released via Bandcamp on February 11, 2012, with a vinyl release by Hundebiss Records. The album is entirely self-produced as Shawn Kemp, with guest appearances from Supa Sortahuman and Denzel Curry. Background The album attracted attention in the underground hip hop scene for its Memphis rap-inspired sound and would bring Lil Ugly Mane to mainstream popularity after also previously appearing on SpaceGhostPurrp's debut mixtape '' Blackland Radio 66.6'' in 2011. ''Labyrinth'' is the sixth studio album released by the multi-genre electronic/trance group Juno Reactor. It was released on in the United States and on in Japan. Overview The album contains several pieces that hold various forms of sound ranging from orchestral, industrial, and techno as well as containing Juno Reactor's trademark tribal sound (possibly as best featured in ''Conquistador II'').
