Moinuddin Aqeel (Urdu: معین الدین عقیل) (born 25 June 1946) is an author, critic being a scholar of Urdu literature and rom Pakistan, who served the University of Karachi as Professor and chairman of Urdu department. He also remained Director of the ''Bureau of Composition, Compilation and Translation'', University of Karachi. Besides University of Karachi, Dr. Aqeel taught Urdu at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Japan and ''University of Oriental Studies'', Naples, Italy for several years. He also gave weekly extension lectures at the ''Daito Bunka University'', Saitama Prefecture, Saitama, Japan on Pakistan's culture and history. Moinuddin Haider, HI(M) (Urdu: معین الدین حیدر ; born 5 June 1942) is a retired three-star rank general of the Pakistan Army, who later served as the Governor of Sindh and then as the Interior Minister of Pakistan. Army career Haider was commissioned in the Pakistan Army in 1962 first in the 26th PMA Long Course in the Frontier Force Regiment. He earned his master's degree in defence studies from the Royal College of Defence Studies in Seaford House UK, and was the first Pakistani to get his thesis published in Seaford House Papers. He saw action in the 1965 and the 1971 Indo-Pak wars. He served as instructor at the Pakistan Military Academy from 1967 to 1970. He commanded a reconnaissance and support battalion twice in 1975–77 and in 1981–82. Later he was head of Pakistan Mutual Cooperation Group in Somalia from 1978 to 1981. Mu'in ad-Din Unur al-Atabeki ( tr, Muiniddin Üner; died August 28, 1149) was a Seljuk Turkish ruler of Damascus in the mid-12th century. Origins Mu'in ad-Din was originally a Mamluk in the army of Toghtekin, the founder of the Burid Dynasty of Damascus. When Zengi, the atabeg of Aleppo, besieged Damascus in 1135, Mu'in ad-Din was at the head of the army defending the city. That year the Burid Shihab ad-Din Mahmud took control of Damascus after the assassination of his brother; when Zengi gave up the siege and instead besieged Homs, Shihab ad-Din sent Yusuf ibn Firuz and Mu'in ad-Din to govern it, with Yusuf acting as Mu'in ad-Din's lieutenant. In 1137 Mu'in ad-Din was still governor of Homs when the city was briefly besieged again by Zengi. Muʿīn al-Dīn Ḥasan ibn al-Shaykh (died 10/12 February 1246): 22 '' Ramaḍān'' 643 AH; : 24 ''Ramaḍān'' 643 (a Monday). was the vizier of the Ayyubid sultan of Egypt, al-Ṣāliḥ Ayyūb, from 1240 until his death. Muʿīn al-Dīn belonged to a family known as the Awlād al-Shaykh. His ancestors came from Khorāsān. He was the youngest of four brothers. His elder brothers were Fakhr al-Dīn Yūsuf, ʿImād al-Dīn ʿUmar and Kamāl al-Dīn Aḥmad. Like his brothers, he was a '' ṣūfī'' who taught Shāfiʿī jurisprudence in Cairo before entering politics. Mu'in al-Din Suleiman Parwana ( fa, معین الدین سلیمان پروانه), better known as Parwana ( fa, پروانه) was a Persian statesman, who was for a time (especially between 1261–1277) a key player in Anatolian politics involving the Seljuk Sultanate of Rûm, the Mongol Ilkhanate and the Mamluks under Baybars. Biography Mu‘in al-Din Suleiman was the son of Muhadhdhab al-Din Ali al-Daylami, a Persian from Kashan, who served as the vizier to the Seljuq Sultan Kaykhusraw II in 1243 at the time of the Battle of Köse Dağ.
