Mohd Noor Ali
Mohd Noor Ali is a Singaporean former footballer and current head coach. Club career Throughout his career, he played as a midfielder or winger for Tampines Rovers, Geylang United, SAFFC, Woodlands Wellington and Hougang United in the S.League, as well as Admiralty FC in the NFL Division 2 before hanging up his boots. He returned to club action for Geylang International in the 2013 season during an injury crisis at the 2nd half of the season. He helped mastermind one of the greatest shock in Singapore football when he aided Geylang United to the 2001 S.League title. However, the season ended in disaster when they were thrashed 8-0 by Home United in the Singapore Cup final, a match in which Noor Ali was sent off. During this time he started a partnership with Aleksandar Duric when they played together for Geylang United and SAFFC. SAFFC
Warriors Football Club is a Singaporean professional football club that played in the Singapore Premier League, the top division of football in Singapore. Before changing their name on 20 January 2013, they were previously known as the Singapore Armed Forces Football Club (SAFFC) since their establishment on 16 February 1996. Despite their name back then, not all players from the team came from the Armed Forces. Some were internationals and others were foreign. The club's original choice of mascot was a wolf, but club officials chose a rhinoceros, which represents discipline, spirit, courage and teamwork. 2009 Singapore Cup
The Singapore Cup 2009 (known as the RHB Singapore Cup due to its main sponsor) started on 27 April 2009. It was the 12th staging of the annual Singapore Cup tournament. 12 S.League clubs and 4 invited foreign teams from Thailand (2 teams), Cambodia (1) and Indonesia (1) played in this edition. The cup was a single-elimination tournament, with all sixteen teams playing from the first round. The first round involved one-off matches. Subsequent rounds involved ties of two legs. The final was played on 8 November and won by Geylang United, who beat Bangkok Glass 1–0. The cup winner were guaranteed a place in the 2010 AFC Cup. Jamil Ali is a Singapore international football player. Club career He started his career with Tampines Rovers before moving to Geylang United in 2002. He later was called to represent the Young Lions in 2004 before returning to Geylang United in 2006. After his contract with the Eagles end, he joined SAFFC in 2007 and won 2 league titles with them. The 2002 AFF Championship, officially known as the 2002 Tiger Cup, was co-hosted by Indonesia and Singapore from November 2002 to 13 January 2003 and participated by all national teams of the member associations of the ASEAN Football Federation entered except for Brunei. Singapore Cup
The Singapore Cup is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic Singaporean football. Established in 1998, it is the foremost football cup competition in the country. It is open to clubs in the Singapore Premier League. Since 2005, foreign teams from other countries in Southeast Asia are occasionally invited to compete in the Singapore Cup. Chonburi Province FC from Thailand was the first foreign club reaching the final in 2006 (they lost 3–2 in the final to local club Tampines Rovers). In 2009, Bangkok Glass became the second foreign team to reach the final, losing against local club Geylang United, but they beat Tampines Rovers in 2010 to become the first foreign winners of the Singapore Cup.
