Mohd Bakri Omar
Tan Sri Mohd Bakri bin Omar (10 September 1948 – 10 November 2014) was an Inspector General of Police who serving from 5 November 2003 to 11 September 2007. Born in Manjung, Perak, Bakri began his service as an Assistant Superintendent Cadet on 1 January 1971, and like most other officers, has undergone basic police training at Police Training Center (PULAPOL). He became Kedah Police Chief in 1996 and Kuala Lumpur Police Chief in 1997. Then, in 2002, he was appointed as Deputy Inspector General of Police. When Tan Sri Norian Mai retired on 5 November 2003, Bakri was appointed his replacement. Order Of The Defender Of The Realm
The Most Esteemed Order of the Defender of the Realm ( ms, Darjah Yang Mulia Pangkuan Negara) is a Malaysian federal award presented for meritorious service to the country. The Order Motto are 'Dipeliharakan Allah-Pangkuan Negara' (By the Grace of God-Defender of the Realm). The order was instituted on 6 August 1958 and initially had the five highest ranks. PULAPOL
The Malaysian Police Training Centre ( ms, Pusat Latihan Polis, Pulapol) is the oldest police academy in Malaysia and the training institute for Royal Malaysia Police. It is located at Semarak Street (formerly Henry Gurney Street), Kuala Lumpur. It is the place where the police is trained under the government. Learning in Pulapol encompasses training aspect, from academic or practical. Pulapol has seven branches: Pulapol Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur, Pulapol Bukit Sentosa, Rawang, Pulapol Air Hitam, Negeri Sembilan, Pulapol Segamat, Johor, Pulapol Langkawi, Kedah, Pulapol Dungun, Terengganu, Pulapol Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and Pulapol Kuching, Sarawak.
