Mohan SJB Rana Cabinet, 1951
Mohan Shumsher Jang Bahadur Rana formed the first government of Nepal after the 1951 Nepalese revolution, 1951 democracy movement. The government was formed by the proclamation of Tribhuvan of Nepal, King Tribhuvan on 17 February 1951 and incorporated members of the Rana dynasty, Rana regime and the Nepali Congress. The king retained the right to dissolve the cabinet at any time and the cabinet would be responsible to him and the prime minister was to inform the king of all decisions. Mohan Shumsher resigned on 12 November 1951 after Nepali Congress ministers in the cabinet resigned after calling the alliance between the two groups "unnatural". Field-Marshal Shree Shree Shree Maharaja Sir Mohan Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana ( ne, मोहन शम्शेर जङ्गबहादुर राणा), GCB, GCIE, GBE (23 December 1885 – 6 January 1967) was the prime minister and foreign minister of Nepal from 30 April 1948 until 12 November 1951. He was the last prime minister from the Rana family, which had controlled Nepal for more than a century and reduced the monarchy to a figurehead. He was the son of the 5th Rana Prime Minister of Nepal Chandra Shumsher and Bada Maharani Chandra Loka Bhakta Lakshmi Devi. He became prime minister at a time when the king, Tribhuvan was attempting to assert himself. Tribhuvan wanted to establish a stronger monarchy and some democracy, which Mohan Shumsher opposed. Subarna Shamsher Rana
Subarna Shamsher Rana ( ne, सुवर्ण सम्शेर राणा) (1910 – 9 November 1977) was a leading figure in the movement to overthrow the ruling Rana oligarchy and to establish democracy in Nepal. He was one of the three leaders of the Nepali Congress in the late 1940s, opposing his relatives, the Rana family, who held power in Nepal at the time. He is one of the most revered leaders of Nepali Congress. He died in Calcutta on 9 November 1977. Sashi Sumsher and Yog Prasad Upadhyay brought his ashes back to Nepal. Surya Prasad Upadhyaya
Surya Prasad Upadhyaya (14 September 1907 – 30 July 1984) was a Nepalese politician. Upadhyaya was a leader of the Nepal Democratic Congress, which merged with into the Nepali Congress in 1950. He was born in Kathmandu on 14 September 1907. Upadhyaya became Home and Law Minister in the Nepali Congress cabinet after the 1959 election. He led the Nepalese delegation at the 1959 UN General Assembly. During the December 1960 royal coup d'état, he was arrested along with B.P. Koirala and Ganesh Man Singh. Bhadrakali Mishra ( ne, भद्रकाली मिश्र; 6 February 1920 – 1 June 2006) was a Nepali politician. In his political career lasting more than 50 years, several of which were in exile, he held numerous ministerial portfolios and was also the Chairman of King Birendra's Raj Parishad Standing Committee (the Royal Privy Council of King Birendra) after the establishment of multi-party democracy in 1990.
