Mohan Koiralaka Kavita
''Mohan Koiralaka Kavita'' () is an anthology of poems by Mohan Koirala. It was published in 1973 (2030 BS) by Sajha Publications. The poet is renowned for his long poems and introducing experimental and modernist style in Nepali literature. The book was edited by Dr. Ishwar Baral. Koirala won the Sajha Puraskar for this book. Synopsis The book contained all the poems of the poet published in various journals and newspaper between 1953 and 1971. ''Pharsiko Jhara'', ''Lek'', ''Surya Dan'', ''Himchuli Raktim Cha'' are some of the poems included in this anthology. Reception The book won the prestigious Sajha Puraskar for 2030 BS (). The award is given every year to the best book published by the publication within that year. The poet also started getting national recogintion after publishing this book. Mohan Koirala
Mohan Koirala ( ne, मोहन कोइराला; 1926–2007) was a Nepalese poet, known for his prose poems and poems against the Rana regime. Some of this poems has been translated in English. He won Madan Puraskar in 2038 BS (c. 1981 AD). Biography Mohan Koirala was born in Kathmandu on 26 November 1926 (11 Mangshir 1983 BS). Due to his father's economic conditions, Koirala had to skip college education before completion. He worked on various jobs around Nepal such as schoolmaster in Hetauda or as a transport corporation officer in Kathmandu. His first poem is ''Jada Jadai'' which was published in 1953. From 1974 to 1979 he was made vice-chancellor of the Royal Nepal Academy for his contribution to the Nepali literature. Sajha Publications ( ne, साझा प्रकाशन, lit=Common Publication, translit=Sajha Prakashan) is the oldest publishing house of Nepal. It was established in 1913 and is funded by the Government of Nepal. Headquartered in Lalitpur, it has regional branches in Biratnagar, Pokhara, Nepalgunj and Dhangadi. Litterateur and former bureaucrat Prahlad Pokhrel is the general manager of the publishing house. Sajha Puraskar () is a literary award given by Sajha Publications. It is presented annually to the best book published by Sajha Publication. History It was established in 1967 and the first award was given to Bhupi Sherchan for his book ''Ghumne Mechmathi Andho Manche'' in 1969. Bairagi Kailaka Kabitaharu
''Bairagi Kailaka Kabitharu'' () is a 1974 Nepali poetry collection by Bairagi Kainla. It was published in 1974 (2031 BS) by Sajha Prakashan. It is the first book of the author. The poems in this collection were later reprinted in a book titled ''Bairagi Kainla ka Sankalit Kavita'' with his other poems by Phoenix Books. Kainla is known as progenitor of the Tesro Aayam (Third Dimension) movement in Nepali literature alongside Indra Bahadur Rai and Ishwor Ballav. He received the Sajha Puraskar for this book. ''Ghumne Mechmathi Andho Manche'' ( ne, घुम्ने मेचमाथि अन्धो मान्छे) is a 1969 Nepali-language poetry collection by Bhupi Sherchan. It was published by Sajha Prakashan and won the first ever Sajha Puraskar for the year 2025 BS (1969). Background The poems were first published as individual short poems over time, on periodicals like '' Ruprekha''. The poems are highly informed by national and international political and social issues of the time, and are interpreted as protest literature. ''Muna Madan'' ( ne, मुनामदन) is a 1936 Nepali-language episodic love poem written by Laxmi Prasad Devkota. It is about Madan, newly married to Muna, who leaves for Lhasa in Tibet to make his fortune, despite protests from his wife. Synopsis ''Muna Madan'' follows the life of Madan, a Chhetri man from Kathmandu who leaves Muna, his wife, to go to Lhasa to earn a fortune. He is cautioned against leaving by both Muna and his elderly mother, but he decides to leave anyway. While he initially intends to spend just a few weeks in Lhasa, he spends a longer time there, becoming entranced by the city's beauty. ''Tarun Tapasi'' () is a 1953 Nepali epic by Lekhnath Paudyal. It was published in 1953 by Sajha Prakashan. The epic is divided into 19 cantos and is written in Shikharini chhanda (meter). The poet called his epic a ''navya-kavya'' (modern type of poem), a new epic instead of '' maha-kavya'' (classical genre of epic). Synopsis The epic is a lengthy, narrative poem. The epic begins with a poet who takes a rest under a tree in a chautari in evening time. The poet recently lost his wife and is grief-stricken. The poet decides to write something, but it becomes dark. A sage appears before him who represents the soul of the tree. The sage delivers a homily to the poet as the tree who has been rooted in a single place and has seen the seasons change.
