Mohammad Sarafraz
Mohammad Sarafraz ( fa, محمد سرافراز) is an Iranian media executive who was head of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) from 2014 until his resignation in 2016. He was the 6th Director-General of the IRIB and succeeded Ezatollah Zarghami on November 10, 2014. He holds a Ph.D in political sciences from Saint Joseph University of Beirut and MA from Imam Sadiq University . He is active in IRIB since 1993 in different posts and played a crucial role in launching Press TV, Hispan TV, al-Alam and iFilm television channels. Careers in IRIB Sarafraz was active in the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) from 1993 and holds the position of Deputy Director-General in Foreign Affairs since 1995, being appointed by then Director-General Mohammad Hashemi Rafsanjani. Press TV (stylised as PRESSTV) is an Iranian state-owned news network that broadcasts in the English and French languages owned by Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the only organization legally able to transmit radio and TV broadcasts in Iran. The 24-hour channel, which has headquarters in Tehran, was launched on 2 July 2007 and was intended to compete with western English language services. Abdulali Ali-Asgari ( fa, عبدالعلی علیعسگری; born 1958 in Ray, Tehran, Iran) is the current CEO of Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Corporation.He is also an Iranian media executive who was the former director-general of IRIB. Ali-Asgari, who was previously a deputy at IRIB in charge of technology and a professor at the Iran Broadcasting University, was appointed as IRIB's director-general on 11 May 2016 after previous head Mohammad Sarafraz resigned from office. HispanTV is an Iranian Spanish language news channel operated by IRIB, Iran's state-controlled broadcaster. It began broadcasting in December 2011. HispanTV's programming has been distributed in Venezuela, Spain, Argentina, Cuba and other countries worldwide and is intended to reinforce ties between Iran and Latin American states such as Venezuela, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Nicaragua, and Mexico as well as to counter what the Iranian government sees as unfair coverage in Western media. Mohammad Hashemi Rafsanjani
Mohammad Hashemi Rafsanjani ( fa, محمد هاشمی رفسنجانی; born 29 August 1942) is an Iranian politician who was a member of the Expediency Discernment Council from 1997 to 2012. He served as vice president in charge of executive affairs during the presidency of his older brother, Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, and later under the first cabinet of President Mohammad Khatami. iFilm (Persian: , Arabic: ), also known as iFilm TV, is an Iranian entertainment network which consists of three channels in English, Arabic and Persian. The network was launched on September 9, 2010. The original purpose of the channel is to present Iranian films and series to the global audience. The network was managed by Mohammad Reza Hatami from its inauguration until he was replaced by Mehdi Mojtahed, son of Ayatollah Mojtahed Shabestari in June 2016. In 2013, iFilm started an additional channel, broadcasting all content dubbed in English.
