Mohammad Sabir (1 September 1943 – 17 June 1998) was a Pakistani cricketer who played first-class cricket from 1962 to 1986. Mohammad Sabir was a leg-spin and googly bowler. He achieved his best innings and match figures in his first season when he took 7 for 61, and 13 for 99 in the match, for Rawalpindi against Karachi B in a semi-final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in 1962–63. Other notable performances included 11 for 80 (7 for 62 and 4 for 18) against Bahawalpur in 1971–72, and 10 for 68 (4 for 47 and 6 for 21) for Dawood Industries against Lahore A in 1975–76. Patiala
Patiala () is a city in southeastern Punjab, northwestern India. It is the fourth largest city in the state and is the administrative capital of Patiala district. Bahawalpur cricket team was a first-class cricket side in Pakistan, representing the city of Bahawalpur. It won the inaugural season of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy in 1953–54, under the captaincy of Khan Mohammad. Bahawalpur competed in Pakistan's first-class competitions in most seasons between 1953–54 and 2002–03. Richie Benaud
Richard Benaud (; 6 October 1930 – 10 April 2015) was an Australian cricketer who, after his retirement from international cricket in 1964, became a highly regarded commentator on the game. Benaud was a Test cricket all-rounder, blending leg spin bowling with lower-order batting aggression. Along with fellow bowling all-rounder Alan Davidson, he helped restore Australia to the top of world cricket in the late 1950s and early 1960s after a slump in the early 1950s. In 1958 he became Australia's Test captain until his retirement in 1964. He became the first player to reach 200 wickets and 2,000 runs in Test cricket, arriving at that milestone in 1963. Gideon Haigh described him as "perhaps the most influential cricketer and cricket personality since the Second World War." Maqsood Ahmed
Maqsood Ahmed (26 March 1925 – 4 January 1999) was a Pakistani cricketer who played in 16 Test matches from 1952 to 1955. He was educated at Islamia College, Lahore. Maqsood Ahmed was a useful all rounder in the first ever cricket team of Pakistan. Before the creation of Pakistan, he played for Southern Punjab in India, scoring 144 in his very first match. An aggressive hitter of the ball, Maqsood played a vital role in the recognition of Pakistan as test playing nation when he made 137 against the visiting MCC in 1951–52. A right-handed middle-order batsman, Maqsood was a hard hitter of the ball and is one of the Test cricketers whose highest score was 99, which he made in the Third Test against India in 1954–55. Though a brilliant batsman, his performance in Test matches was rather irregular because of his carefree attitude. Test cricket is a form of first-class cricket played at international level between teams representing full member countries of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Dawood Industries Cricket Team
Dawood Industries were a Pakistani first-class cricket team sponsored by the Dawood group of companies. They had one season of first-class cricket in the Patron's Trophy in 1975–76. Dawood Industries, which included the Test players Zaheer Abbas (who captained the team) and Imran Khan, won their matches in the first three rounds, then lost by an innings to Pakistan International Airlines in the semi-final. Their four matches took place between 12 October and 3 November 1975. Fourteen players appeared for Dawood Industries in the four matches. The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is a domestic first-class cricket competition in Pakistan. With few exceptions, it has been staged annually since it was first played during the 1953–54 season. Domestic cricket in Pakistan has undergone many reorganisations, with the number of teams and matches in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy changing regularly. Since the 2019–20 season it has been contested by six regional teams, having previously been variously contested by associations or departments, or a combination of the two.
