Mohammad Kassas
Mohammad Ali Kassas ( ar, محمد علي قصاص; born 1 July 1976) is a Lebanese former professional footballer who played as a striker. He is the technical director of club Nejmeh. Kassas was the Lebanese Premier League top goalscorer for Nejmeh twice in a row, scoring 22 goals in 2003–04 and 21 goals in 2004–05. He also represented the Lebanon national team, scoring three goals in 23 appearances. Club career Kassas started his senior career in 1988, aged 12, at Mabarra in the Lebanese Fourth Division. He helped the side reach the Lebanese Second Division, before moving on a trial to Ansar during the summer of 1997. In 1997 Kassas moved to Safa and played for one season. During the 1999–2000 season, Kassas played for Shabab Sahel, before moving to Sagesse for two seasons; he scored 18 league goals in 45 games with the side. Maqne
Maqne or Maakne ( ar, مقنة) is a town and municipality in Baalbek District, Baalbek-Hermel Governorate, Lebanon. Maqne I Along with Qaa, Maqne I or Maakne I is a type site of the Shepherd Neolithic industry. The surface site was discovered in 1957 by M. Billaux and the materials found were studied by Henri Fleisch and Maurice Tallon. Findings were published by Fleisch in 1966. The site is located south of the town, east of the road that leads from Baalbek to Homs. The Shepherd Neolithic assemblage found resembled that collected from Qaa and was spread over a sterile area of consolidated Neogene alluvial conglomerates. Lorraine Copeland commented that the industry could be found in no particular concentration around a wide area of the northern Beqaa valley. M. Billaux observed that the worked Shepherd Neolithic flints were of far superior quality than the brittle, unworkable flint conglomerates in the area. 2016–17 Lebanese Premier League
The 2016–17 Lebanese Premier League is the 56th season of top-tier football in Lebanon. A total of twelve teams are competing in the league, with Safa the defending champions. After 21 rounds, Al Ahed have won the league for the 5th time in its history. At the 21st round, Al Ahed needed a win against rivals Nejmeh SC to win the League but Nejmeh SC had forfeited and Al Ahed automatically won the match and became the champions of the Lebanese Premier League.
