Mohammad Hejazi
Mohammad Hossein-Zadeh Hejazi ( fa, محمد حسینزاده حجازی, 20 January 1956 – 18 April 2021) was a military commander in Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Early life and education Hejazi was born in Isfahan in 1956. He attended the University of Tehran. Career Hejazi became a member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in May 1979. He served as the intelligence and security advisor to the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. He was a former commander of Basij, the auxiliary Iranian paramilitary branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. On January 20, 2020, he became the Deputy Commander of the Quds Force, by decree of the Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. Sardar (IRGC)
Sardar ( fa, سردار), roughly equivalent to "General", is the honorific title used for officers of high rank, ranking Second Brigadier General and higher in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and commanders of the Law Enforcement Force of Islamic Republic of Iran (Police) who have previously served in the former military or the Islamic Revolution Committees, as well as the commanders of the disbanded Jihad of Construction. AMIA Bombing
The AMIA bombing occurred on 18 July 1994 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and targeted the Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA; ), a Jewish Community Centre. Executed as a suicidal attack, a bomb-laden van was driven into the AMIA building and subsequently detonated, killing 85 people and injuring over 300. To date, the bombing remains the deadliest terrorist attack in Argentine history. Argentina is home to a Jewish community of 230,000, making it the largest in Latin America and the sixth-largest in the world outside of Israel. Over the years, the AMIA bombing has been marked by accusations of cover-ups. All suspects in the "local connection" (among them, many members of the Buenos Aires Provincial Police) were found to be not guilty in September 2004. Hossein Taeb
Hossein Taeb ( fa, حسین طائب) is an Iranian Shia cleric and senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps official who was head of the IRGC's Intelligence Organization. Biography According to a biography from the "pro-government" Iran Student Correspondents Association summarized in the website Iran Rises, Taeb was born in 1342 (1963/4). After his middle education, he went to seminary school and reached an advanced degree ('' kharej'') in Islamic jurisprudence after studying in Tehran, Mashhad, and Qom. He had studied with, among others, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Taeb joined the Revolutionary Guards (which supervises the Basij) in 1361 (1982/3), beginning his work in Region 10 of Tehran and continued on to Qom and Mashhad. After incumbent president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared victory in the 2009 Iranian presidential election, protests broke out in major cities across Iran in support of opposition candidates Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi. 41st Tharallah Division
The 41st Tharallah Division (also spelled Sarallah) ( fa, لشکر 41 ثارالله) was a division of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from 1980 until it was merged into the Sarallah Corps of Kerman Province in 2008. Formation In 1980, a battalion was established consisting of forces from Sistan and Baluchestan province, Hormozgan province and Kerman province to fight in the Iran–Iraq War. In 1981, it was expanded and organized as the 41st Tharallah Brigade ( fa, تیپ 41 ثارالله). It was further expanded to comprise 4 battalions by 1982, and 6 battalions later in that year.
