Mohammad Harun-Ur-Rashid
Harun-or-Rashid is a Bangladeshi police officer and Chief of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). He is known for his controversial actions. Early life Harun-or-Rashid is from Kishoreganj District. Career Harun-or-Rashid, Deputy Commissioner of Lalbagh Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, assaulted Zainul Abedin Farroque, Bangladesh Nationalist Party's member of parliament and Chief Opposition Whip, during an anti-government protest. A. B. M. Ashraf Uddin, member of parliament, filed attempted murder case of Zainul Abedin Farroque against 25 police officers including Harun-or-Rashid and ASP Biplob Kumar Sarker. Detective Branch
Detective Branch is a specialized unit of Bangladesh Police. According to Human Rights Watch, there is extensive documentation of human rights violation by Detective Branch and Rapid Action Battalion. According to Human Rights Watch, 70 percent of extrajudicial deaths involving the police involved Detective Branch. History In 1998, Shamim Reza Rubel,a student of the Independent University, Bangladesh, was arrested by Detective Branch members. He was then tortured and killed in custody. On 25 March 1999, a body of an informant was recovered from the water tank of Detective Branch headquarters in Minto road in Dhaka. Asaduzzaman Mia
Asaduzzaman Mia (born 14 August 1960) is a retired police officer who served as the 33rd Police commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, the longest serving commissioner and the incumbent chief executive officer of National Security Affairs Cell under the Cabinet Division. During his tenure as DMP Commissioner, Dhaka Metropolitan Police was considered to be at its peak. Mozammel Haque (Bangladesh Awami League Politician)
Mozammel Haque (born 1 October 1946) is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the Minister for Liberation War Affairs of Bangladesh since 2014. Early life Haque was born on 1 October 1946 in Dakhina Khan, Gazipur Sadar Upazila, Gazipur District to Anwar Ali and Rabeya Khatun. Career Haque was a member of the East Pakistan Chhatra League Central Working Committee. He fought in the Bangladesh Liberation war in 1971 and was part of the Mukti Bahini. Asaduzzaman Khan (born 31 December 1950) is a Bangladesh Awami League politician. He became the Member of Parliament for Dhaka-12 in 2014, being re-elected in 2018. He currently serves as Minister of Home Affairs. Early life Khan was born on 31 December 1950 in Monipuripara, Dhaka, East Bengal, Pakistan. His home district is Dohar, Dhaka. Narayanganj District ( bn, নারায়ণগঞ্জ, Narayoṇgonj) is a district in central Bangladesh which is a part of the Dhaka Division.
