Mohammad Ali Zolfigol
Mohammad Ali Zolfigol is an Iranian professor of chemistry and current Minister of Science, Research and Technology, since August 25, 2021. He was the President of Bu-Ali Sina University from August 2, 2008 to June 8, 2014. In 2022 Zolfigol had four of his research publications retracted by the Royal Society of Chemistry because of concerns regarding the authenticity of chemicals used in the published studies and the reproducibility of the experiments. Ashtian
Ashtian ( fa, آشتيان, also Romanized as Āshtīān and Ashtīyan) is a city and capital of Ashtian County, Markazi Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 8,324, in 2,597 families. Ashtian lies in a fertile agricultural district, watered by surface streams and qanats. The region is a famous one for carpet-weaving. Among its historical monuments is the remains of a fortress and a Safavid era caravanserai. Several learned men and religious figures have stemmed from Ashtian. The Mostowfi family of Ashtian occupied several roles within the Qajar and Pahlavi administrative system.
