Mohamed Taki Abdulkarim
Mohamed Taki Abdoulkarim ( ar, محمد تقي عبد الكريم 20 February 1936 – 6 November 1998) was President of Comoros, President of the Comoros from 25 March 1996 until his death on 6 November 1998. Life He was born in Mbeni, Grande Comore and issued family privileges, he was the beneficiary of Djumbé Fumu, descendant of Sultan Msa Fumu. He studied in Madagascar as a child then went to France to continue his education and obtain an engineering degree in public works. Returning to Grande Comore, Said Mohamed Cheikh made him responsible for the public works in Anjouan where he made the acquaintance of Ahmed Abdallah. Ali Soilih
Ali Soilih M'Tsashiwa ( ar, علي صويلح; January 7, 1937 – May 29, 1978) was a Comorian socialist revolutionary and political figure who served as the 3rd President of the Comoros from 3 January 1976 to 13 May 1978. Biography Soilih was born in Majunga, Madagascar. He spent much of his early life there, and was educated in Madagascar and France. During the early 1960s, he traveled to Comoros, where he worked in agriculture and economic development. Rise to power In 1970, Ali Soilih entered politics as a supporter of Said Ibrahim, leader of the Democratic Assembly of the Comoran People, ''Rassemblement démocratique du Peuple Comorien'' (RDPC). He soon developed an ideology of hostility towards France as the former colonial power. His ideas were socialist, and he renounced his Islamic faith and became an atheist. Caabi El-Yachroutu Mohamed (born 1949) is a Comorian politician. He was the country's Vice-President from May 2002 until 27 February 2006, when he resigned in order to participate in the upcoming election for a new Union president. He was eliminated in the first round of that election. Biography He previously served as Prime Minister from 29 April 1995 to 27 March 1996 and interim President from 5 October 1995 to 26 January 1996. Combo Ayouba
Combo Ayouba, also referred to as Ayouba Combo, (c. 1952 – June 13, 2010) was a Comorian colonel and senior member of the Military of Comoros. He was one of the highest-ranking military officers in the Comoros at the time of his assassination in 2010. Biography Ayouba was born on the island of Anjouan, which was a French colony at the time. He initially worked as a police officer. However, he was trained as a presidential guard by the French mercenary, Bob Denard, during the 1980s. On September 28, 1995, Bob Denard led his fourth military coup against the Comoran government. The coup, which Denard called Operation Kaskari, ousted President Said Mohamed Djohar, who was imprisoned in the military barracks. The unicameral Assembly of the Union of the Comoros is the country's legislative body. It was established in 2004. Legislative history The Comorian legislative body, Chamber of Deputies, was established in 1961. It was reconstituted as National Assembly in July 1975. It was followed by the Federal Assembly, which had 33-43 members before year 2004. The name Assembly of the Union was taken into use in 2004. Since 2020, it has had 24 members instead of 33.
