Mohamed Atwi
Mohamad Ahmad Atwi ( ar, محمد أحمد عطوي; 10 January 1987 – 18 September 2020) was a Lebanese footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Atwi started his career at Olympic Beirut in 2004, remaining there in 2005 when they changed their name to AC Tripoli. He moved to Tadamon Sour in 2006, and then to Ansar in 2008, where he stayed for nine seasons. Atwi returned to Tadamon Sour on loan in 2017, and then moved to Akhaa Ahli Aley in 2018. Atwi also represented the Lebanon national team between 2011 and 2014, playing a game in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. On 21 August 2020, Atwi was hit in the head by a stray bullet. He died on 18 September 2020, after nearly one month in intensive care. Akhaa Ahli Aley FC
Akhaa Ahli Aley Football Club (), commonly referred to as Akhaa Ahli Aley, Akhaa Ahli or simply Akhaa, is a football club based in Aley, Lebanon, that competes in the . Akhaa have played in the Lebanese Premier League since 2010–11 season, after gaining promotion from the Lebanese Second Division. They won the Lebanese Challenge Cup in 2022. The club is supported by the Lebanese MP Arkram Chehayeb, who was the key person to ratify the merging of the two clubs Ahli and Akhaa in the city of Aley. 2020 Beirut Explosion
On 4 August 2020, a large amount of ammonium nitrate stored at the Port of Beirut in the capital city of Lebanon exploded, causing at least 218 deaths, 7,000 injuries, and United States dollar, US$15 billion in property damage, as well as leaving an estimated 300,000 people Homelessness, homeless. 2015–16 Lebanese Premier League
The 2015–16 Lebanese Premier League is the 55th season of top-tier football in Lebanon. A total of twelve teams are competing in the league, with Al Ahed the defending champions. Teams Tadamon Sour and Al Akhaa Al Ahli were relegated to the second level of Lebanese football after ending the 2014–15 season in the bottom two places. Lebanese Super Cup
The Lebanese Super Cup () is Lebanese football's annual match contested between the champions of the previous Lebanese Premier League season and the holders of the Lebanese FA Cup. If the Lebanese Premier League champions also won the Lebanese FA Cup then the league runners-up provide the opposition.
