Moeen Charif
Moeen Shreif ( ar, معين شريف ) (born on May 15, 1972; Yammoune, Lebanon) is a Lebanese people, Lebanese singer. His public appreciates and respects him particularly for his commitment, his vibrant voice and his poetic lyrics Biography He started singing at age 9 and very quickly realized that music would be his calling. At age 12, he appeared as a child singer during the popular TV programme ''Layali Lubnan''. He later learned playing the piano and oud. His meeting with the famous Lebanese singer and musician Wadih El Safi, an encounter that would be decisive for his career as Wadih El Safi decided to take him under his wing. In 1994, he appeared on ''Studio El Fan'' and won great accolades. His first album after graduating from the programme was ''Rejou'ak'' that included six songs. Although the album proved to be a big hit, the signed contract with ''Studio El Fan'' and its owner Simon Asmar became a big source of trouble for Moeen Shreif, problems that would pursue him ... Yammoune
Yammoune is a lake, nature reserve, village and municipality situated northwest of Baalbek in Baalbek District, Baalbek-Hermel Governorate, Lebanon. The village has a few hundred inhabitants. During the 1970s Ali Akbar Mohtashamipur lived in Yammoune whilst receiving military training at a Fatah camp. He later held a number of senior posts in the Iranian government. Lebanese People
The Lebanese people ( ar, الشعب اللبناني / ALA-LC: ', ) are the people inhabiting or originating from Lebanon. The term may also include those who had inhabited Mount Lebanon and the Anti-Lebanon Mountains prior to the creation of the modern Lebanese state. The major religious groups among the Lebanese people within Lebanon are Shia Muslims (27%), Sunni Muslims (27%), Maronite Christians (21%), Greek Orthodox Christians (8%), Melkite Christians (5%), Druze (5.2%), Protestant Christians (1%). The largest contingent of Lebanese, however, comprise a diaspora in North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Africa, which is predominantly Maronite Christian. As the relative proportion of the various sects is politically sensitive, Lebanon has not collected official census data on ethnic background since 1932 under the French Mandate. Wadih El Safi
Wadih El Safi ( ar, وديع الصافي, born Wadih Francis; November 1, 1921 – October 11, 2013) was a Lebanese singer, songwriter, composer and actor. He was a Lebanese icon and the forefather of the country's musical culture. He was the longest singer in production, seventy-five years in the singing profession. He was the number one singer of his era. He was known amongst his peers to have incarnated and raised the ceiling of all the singing styles and music of that era and added his own intricate new styles and genres to the existing national musical and singing heritage. He is the reference to every new singer and the example to follow for generations to come. Studio El Fan
''Studio El Fan'' ( ar, ستوديو الفن, "The Art Studio") was one of the Arab world's first star-maker talent shows in Lebanon, created by the famous television director and producer Simon Asmar, and Alfred Barakat. The program is behind most famous Lebanese stars like Majida El Roumi, Ragheb Alama, Walid Toufic, Wael Kfoury and Assi El Hellani. The program started in 1972 on Télé Liban where it boradcasted during the 1970s and early 1980s, the LBC television proposed to welcome him during the early 1980s where it aired during the late 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s, and finally bought by the MTV in 2009. The show ran every four years for an entire year, and contestants from all over Lebanon competed in different singing categories for the gold, silver or bronze medals awards. Artists were not allowed to perform elsewhere than on LBCI, so they were called upon to perform in ''Nahr el-Founoun'', an artistic complex in Nahr el-Kalb that was owned by Simon Asmar.
