The band Modern Times, consisting of Simone Weis and Jimmy Martin, was the last (until ) participants for Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest and performed the song " Donne-moi une chance" in the 1993 contest . The song finished in 20th place with 11 points. This was to be the last entry for the Grand Duchy until 2024. The band were Luxembourg nationals and were the last of 9 acts to have sung for their country in 37 attempts. The Eurovision Song Contest 1993 was the 38th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Millstreet, Ireland, following the country's victory at the with the song " Why Me?" by Linda Martin. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster (RTÉ), the contest was held at the Green Glens Arena on 15 May 1993 and was hosted by Irish TV-reporter Fionnuala Sweeney, marking the first time since the contest that just one presenter had hosted the contest. Marion Welter (born 1965) is a Luxembourgish singer. When she was 15 years old, she became part of the band Quo vadis. She studied music in a music academy and has worked in several styles of music, such as classical music, pop and jazz. She represented Luxembourg with the band Kontinent in the Eurovision Song Contest 1992 in Malmö, performing the Luxembourgish Luxembourgish ( ; also ''Luxemburgish'', ''Luxembourgian'', ''Letzebu(e)rgesch''; Luxembourgish: ) is a West Germanic language that is spoken mainly in Luxembourg.
