Moa is an Indonesian island, at the center of the Leti Islands, and one of the 92 officially listed outlying islands of Indonesia. Moa is located in southwest Maluku province. The main town is Tiakur. The Leti language, a member of Austronesian languages is spoken on Moa. Moa Island
Moa Island, also called Banks Island, is an island of the Torres Strait Islands archipelago that is located north of Thursday Island in the Banks Channel of Torres Strait, Queensland, Australia. It is also a locality within the Torres Strait Island Region local government area. This island is the largest within the "Near Western" group. It has two towns, Kubin on the south-west coast and St Pauls on the east coast, which are connected by bitumen and a gravel road. In the , Moa Island had a population of 448 people. The Letti Islands () of Indonesia are part of the Maluku Islands, in southwest Maluku Province. (The spelling Leti Islands is also used sometimes.) Maluku is a province of Indonesia. It comprises the central and southern regions of the Maluku Islands. The main city and capital of Maluku province is Ambon on the small Ambon Island. The land area is 62,946 km2, and the total population of this province at the 2010 census was 1,533,506 people, rising to 1,848,923 at the 2020 Census. The official estimate as at mid 2021 was 1,862,626. Maluku is located in Eastern Indonesia. Tiakur
Tiakur is a ''kelurahan'' and the regency seat of Southwest Maluku Regency in Maluku, Indonesia. The town was purposely built as the capital of the Southwest Maluku Regency following its creation in 2008. Tiakur formed as the result of a political debate during the creation of the regency and smaller than largest and more developed town of the regency, Wonreli in Kisar Island. Leti Language
Leti (or Letti) is an Austronesian language spoken on the island of Leti in Maluku. Although it shares much vocabulary with the neighboring Luang language, it is marginally mutually intelligible. Fewer than 1% of Leti speakers are literate in Leti, though between 25% and 50% of them are literate in another language. Varieties The main dialectological division in Leti is between eastern varieties, spoken in the domains of Laitutun and Luhuleli, and western varieties, spoken in the domains of Batumiau, Tutukei, Tomra, and Nuwewang.
