Mnet Asian Music Award For Best Asian Artist
The MAMA Award for Best Asian Artist is an award presented by Mnet (TV channel), Mnet and CJ E&M Pictures at the annual South Korean-based MAMA Awards. It was first awarded at the 2004 Mnet KM Music Video Festival ceremony with genre specific categories. Artists from around East and Southeast Asia have received the awards, and it is given in honor of artist(s) with the best performance in the music industry in their respective countries or region. MAMA Awards
The MAMA Awards (formerly Mnet Asian Music Awards) is a major music awards ceremony presented annually by entertainment company CJ E&M. First held in South Korea, the majority of prizes has been won by K-pop artists, although there are other Asian artists winning in various award categories, such as for Best Asian Artist and other professional-related awards. The awards ceremony was first held in Seoul in 1999, being aired on Mnet. MAMA has also been held in various Asian countries and cities outside of South Korea since 2010 and now airs internationally online beyond Asia. The 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) was held on December 3, 2014, at the AsiaWorld–Arena, Hong Kong. It marked its sixteenth edition acknowledging the past year's K-pop releases.
