Mixed-NOCs At The 2018 Summer Youth Olympics
Teams made up of athletes representing different National Olympic Committees (NOCs), called mixed-NOCs teams, participated in the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. These teams participated in either events composed entirely of mixed-NOCs teams, or in events which saw the participation of mixed-NOCs teams ''and'' non-mixed-NOCs teams. When a mixed-NOCs team won a medal, the Olympic flag was raised rather than a national flag; if a mixed-NOCs team won gold, the Olympic anthem would be played instead of national anthems. A total of 18 events with Mixed NOCs were held. Background The concept of ''mixed-NOCs'' was introduced in the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, in which athletes from different nations would compete in the same team, often representing their continent. This is in contrast to the Mixed team (IOC code: ''ZZX'') found at early senior Olympic Games. Vũ Thị Anh Thư (born 16 July 2001) is a Vietnamese badminton player. She won a silver medal in badminton at the 2018 Youth Olympics mixed team relay event. Vũ also helped the Vietnamese women's team to secure a bronze medal at the 2021 SEA Games when she delivered the last point for the team after defeating Ong Xin Yee of Malaysia. Kunlavut Vitidsarn ( th, กุลวุฒิ วิทิตศานต์; simply known as View ( th, วิว); born 11 May 2001) is a Thai badminton player. He was three-times World Junior champion, winning in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Markus Barth (badminton)
Markus Barth (6 October 1915 – 1 July 1994) was a Swiss scholar of theology. He lived in Bern, Basel, Berlin, and Edinburgh and was the son of the seminal Protestant theologian Karl Barth. From 1940 to 1953 he was a Reformed Pastor in Bubendorf near Basel. In 1947 he received a doctorate in New Testament from the University of Göttingen.
