Mitsubishi Town Box
The Mitsubishi Town Box is a kei car (Town Box) and minivan (Town Box Wide) produced for the Japanese domestic market, Japanese domestic market (JDM) by the Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors. It was initially available with the alloy-cylinder head, headed ''Mitsubishi 4A3 engine, 4A30'' 657 cc inline-four engine, but switched to the ''Mitsubishi 3G8 engine, 3G83'' 659 cc straight-three engine in 2002. In August 2001, a slightly larger version of the same vehicle powered by a ''Mitsubishi 4A3 engine, 4A31'' 1.1 L straight-four, the Mitsubishi Town Box Wide, was discontinued. The first generation Town Box was discontinued in November 2011, ending the twelve-year production run. The model returned in February 2014 as a rebadged version of the Suzuki Carry, Suzuki Every Wagon. The first generation Town Box was also sold in Japan as the Nissan Clipper, Nissan Clipper Rio, while the Town Box Wide was also produced under licence in Malaysia as the Proton Juara.

The Suzuki R engine is an inline-three engine that has been produced by Suzuki since 2011. Initially introduced in the third-generation MR Wagon, and intended as a replacement for the K6A engine, the R engine has since been used in various Suzuki's, such as the Alto, the Wagon R, and the Carry. A straight-three engine (also called an inline-triple or inline-three) is a three-cylinder piston engine where cylinders are arranged in a line along a common crankshaft. Less common than straight-four engines, straight-three engines have nonetheless been used in various motorcycles, cars and agricultural machinery. The Mitsubishi 3G8 engine is a range of three-cylinder powerplant from Mitsubishi Motors, introduced in the fifth generation of their Mitsubishi Minica '' kei car''. In common with other contemporary engines in the class, it could be specified with many advanced technologies despite its diminutive size, including multi-valve cylinder heads and double overhead camshafts. The Mitsubishi 4A3 engine is a range of alloy-headed inline four-cylinder engines from Mitsubishi Motors, introduced in 1993 in the sixth generation of their Mitsubishi Minica ''kei car''. It shares a bore pitch with the 3G8-series three-cylinder engines, but has a considerably shorter stroke so as to stay beneath the 660 cc limit imposed by the Kei class.
