Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Crystal Mover C810
} The Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Crystal Mover C810 is an automated people mover train that serves the Sengkang LRT line and Punggol LRT line in Singapore. The trains have been operating since 18 January 2003, with its first service on the Sengkang East Loop, and on 29 January 2005 for the Punggol East Loop. The C810 was developed and built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in cooperation with Crystal Mover Bodywork, the same company that developed the newer Changi Airport Skytrain. The trains were developed for airport and light rail applications. They are fully automated and driverless, relying on Automatic Train Control (ATC) technology. Singapore's Light Rail Transit purchased 41 C810s to be used on the Sengkang LRT line and Punggol LRT line. North South MRT Line
The North-South line (NSL) is a high-capacity Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line in Singapore, operated by SMRT Corporation. Coloured red on the Singapore rail map, the line is long and serves 27 stations, 11 of which, between the Bishan and Marina South Pier stations, are underground. It runs from Jurong East station, located in Western Singapore, to Marina South Pier station in the Central Area, via Woodlands station in northern Singapore. The line operates for 19 hours a day (from approximately 5:30 am to around midnight), with headways of up to 2 to 3 minutes during peak hours and 5 to 8 minutes during off-peak hours. East West MRT Line
The East West line (EWL) is a high-capacity Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line operated by SMRT in Singapore, running from Pasir Ris station in the east to Tuas Link station in the west, with an additional branch between Changi Airport and Tanah Merah stations. It is the second Mass Rapid Transit line to be built in Singapore. The line is the longest on the MRT network (this title will be given to the Cross Island line upon its complete opening by the 2040s), with 35 stations, 8 of which (from Lavender to Tiong Bahru and Changi Airport stations) are underground. The Light Rail Transit (LRT) is a series of localised automated guideway transit systems acting as feeder services to the heavy rail Mass Rapid Transit, which together forms the core of Singapore's rail transport services. Automatic train control (ATC) is a general class of train protection systems for railways that involves a speed control mechanism in response to external inputs. Changi Airport Skytrain
The Changi Airport Skytrain is an automated people mover (APM) that connects Terminals 1, 2 and 3 at Singapore Changi Airport. Opened in 1990, it was the first driverless and automated system of its kind in South East Asia. The Changi Airport Skytrain operates from 05:00 to 02:30 daily. Traveling on the Skytrain is free and an inter-terminal journey takes approximately four minutes. Since 2006, the trains operating on all Skytrain lines are Crystal Movers manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The term is generally used only to describe systems serving relatively small areas such as airports, downtown districts or theme parks. The Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Crystal Mover C810A is an automated people mover vehicle which serves the Sengkang LRT line and Punggol LRT line as the second generation train after their previous counterparts Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Crystal Mover C810. Two train sets commenced revenue service on 5 April 2016, with Set 43 and 44 running on the East and West loop of the Sengkang LRT line respectively. Since then, the rest of the fleet progressively entered service. Train design There is little difference between its older counterpart, the C810. However, its headlights are vertical instead of horizontal and luminously white instead of yellow installed on its predecessor. Its train number is underlined.
