Mitra (film)
''Mitra'' is a 2021 Dutch drama film directed by Iranian-Dutch filmmaker Kaweh Modiri. The film was an adaptation of a non-fiction book by Modiri about the real-life experiences of his mother. It premiered on the International Film Festival Rotterdam. It also played at the ''Movies that Matter-festival'' in The Hague and the Netherlands Film Festival. Plot The daughter of Haleh was betrayed and executed in the aftermath of the Iranian Revolution. 37 years later, in the Netherlands, she is confronted by the woman who betrayed her daughter. Jasmin Tabatabai
Jasmin Tabatabai ( fa, یاسمین طباطبائی ; born 8 June 1967 in Tehran, Iran, is a German actress and singer. Biography Jasmin Tabatabai's mother is German, and her father is Iranian. She was born and raised in Tehran until the 1979 Islamic Revolution, at which point she migrated with her mother to Germany. After her completion of school, she studied drama in the arts college in Stuttgart. Career She was discovered for the screen 1992 as main character in the Swiss feature film '' Children of the Open Road, ''what brought her the award as best actress at the Amiens Film Festival in France. Mohsen Namjoo
Mohsen Namjoo ( fa, محسن نامجو) is an Iranian singer-songwriter, composer and musician. His style of music is influenced by blues and rock as well as Iranian folk music. Early life and education Namjoo was born on 4 March 1976 in Torbat-e Jam, a small town of Razavi Khorasan in northeastern Iran. He was raised in the religious city of Mashhad. He started learning classical Persian music when he was 12. At a young age he started listening to Western music and became interested in musicians like Jim Morrison, Eric Clapton, and Chris de Burgh. He was admitted to the Tehran University of Art in 1994. Iranian Revolution
The Iranian Revolution ( fa, انقلاب ایران, Enqelâb-e Irân, ), also known as the Islamic Revolution ( fa, انقلاب اسلامی, Enqelâb-e Eslâmī), was a series of events that culminated in the overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and the replacement of his government with an Islamic republic under the rule of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, a leader of one of the factions in the revolt. The revolution was supported by various Organizations of the Iranian Revolution, leftist and Islamist organizations. After the 1953 Iranian coup d'état, Pahlavi had aligned with the United States and the Western Bloc to rule more firmly as an authoritarian monarch. Jharna Basak (born 17 August 1946), known by her stage name Shabnam, is a Bangladeshi–Pakistani stage and film actress. Actor Waheed Murad introduced her to the Pakistani film industry by offering her a lead role in his film ''Samundar'' in 1968. Shabnam remained active in Lollywood in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
