The Mitchell Park Football Club, nicknamed the ''Lions'', is an Australian rules football club that was founded in 1968 by Edward McAvaney, currently playing in the South Australian Amateur Football League, that initially played in the Glenelg-South Adelaide Football Association. Mitchell Park remained in the Glenelg-South Adelaide Football Association, later known as the Southern Metropolitan Football League, until the end of the 1985 season. Mitchell Park joined the South Australian Football Association in 1986 and remained in that competition they transferred to the Southern Football League Division 1 competition in 1994. Mitchell Park lasted four seasons in the Division 1 competition before they were relegated to the Division 2 competition in 1998. Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory (Mitchell Park Domes or The Domes) is a conservatory located at Mitchell Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. It is owned and operated by the Milwaukee County Park System, and replaced the original ''Milwaukee Conservatory'' which stood from 1898 to 1955. The three domes display a large variety of plant life. Description Designed by Donald L. Grieb Associates, Architect, the Conservatory is composed of three beehive-shaped glass domes that span in diameter and are high. They are properly referred to as the world's first conoidal domes. They cover of display area and were constructed in stages from 1959 to 1967. Connecting the three domes is a central lobby area, which was extensively redesigned in the summer of 2008. Mitchell Park Zoo
Mitchell Park Zoo is also known as Mitchell Park or Mitchell's Park. Situated in the Morningside suburb of Durban, South Africa, it is the only zoo in Durban. The zoo was established as an Ostrich farm in 1910, but was unprofitable and started adding other animals. At one time it was home to many large animals, the most notable of which was an Indian Elephant named Nellie. Nellie was given to the zoo by the Maharajah of Mysore in 1928, and could blow a mouth organ and crack coconuts with her feet. Today the Zoo holds various smaller animals such as blue duiker, small South American Monkeys, raccoons and various birds. The largest animals in the zoo today are Aldabra giant tortoises. The zoo also includes a children's playground, a walk-through aviary, and the Blue Zoo tea garden, as well as a large lawn area for picnics.
