Mitar Peković (; born 28 September 1981) is a Serbian former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Defender (association football), defender. Club career After making a name for himself at FK Zeta, Zeta, Peković moved abroad and signed with Wisła Płock. He spent two and a half years in Poland, before returning to Serbia and joining newly promoted Serbian SuperLiga club FK Čukarički, Čukarički. He also played for FK Vojvodina, Vojvodina, FC Anzhi Makhachkala, Anzhi Makhachkala, FK Budućnost Podgorica, Budućnost Podgorica, Vendsyssel FF, FK Sloboda Užice, Sloboda Užice, FK Bežanija, Bežanija, and OFK Vrbas, Vrbas, before retiring from the game. Bačka Topola ( sr-Cyrl, Бачка Топола, ; hu, Topolya, ) is a town and municipality located in the North Bačka District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. The municipality is composed of 23 local communities and has a population of 33,321, while the town itself has 14,573 inhabitants. Name The name of the town is derived from the Serbian word ''topola'' (топола) ("poplar" in English).
