Mistral One Design
The Mistral One Design Class (MOD) is a windsurfing class chosen by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) for use at the Olympic Regatta in Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004. Starting with the 2008 Summer Olympics it was replaced by the RS:X class, which will be replaced by the iQFoil class for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Description The MOD was first produced in 1989. Worldwide, there are more than 30,000 build since. They are light and tough. In the right hands, they can be sailed in windspeeds of between depending on sea conditions. Gal Fridman (or Friedman, he, גל פרידמן; born September 16, 1975) is an Israeli windsurfer and Israel's first Olympic Games, Olympic gold medalist. Fridman won a bronze medal, Bronze Medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics, Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics, and his gold medal in the Athens 2004, Athens 2004 Summer Olympics. He is the first of two Israelis sportsperson, athlete to win two Olympic Medals, and the first Olympic Gold medalist in Israeli history. His first name, Gal, means "wave" in Hebrew. He was born in Karkur, Israel, and lives close to the water in Sdot Yam, a nearby kibbutz. Carlos Mauricio "Camau" Espínola (born 5 October 1971) is an Argentine windsurfer and politician. He served as Mayor of Corrientes from 2009 to 2013 and is a National Senator since 2015. Sailing career Nicknamed ''Camau'', Espínola was born in Corrientes and started training at the ''Club Náutico de La Totora'' in his home province. He obtained his first important award, a silver medal, during the Pan American Games held in 1991 in Havana. In the following games, held in Mar del Plata in 1995, Espínola obtained the gold medal. A year later he won the silver medal at the 1996 Olympics held in Atlanta; he would win a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Sydney.
