Missunderstood (Queen Naija Album)
''Missunderstood'' (stylized in all lowercase) is the debut studio album by American singer Queen Naija. The album was released on October 30, 2020, through Capitol. The production on the album was handled by multiple producers including Boi-1da, T-Minus, Jahaan Sweet, Hitmaka, Lil' Ronnie and Pooh Beatz among others. The album also features guest appearances by Lil Durk, Russ, Toosii, Jacquees, Mulatto and Kiana Ledé. The deluxe version features guest appearances by Ari Lennox, Wale and J.I the Prince of N.Y. ''Missunderstood'' was supported by four singles: "Butterflies Pt. 2", "Pack Lite", "Lie to Me" and "Set Him Up". The album received generally positive reviews from music critics and was a moderate commercial success. Queen Naija Bulls (; born October 17, 1995) is an American R&B singer and media personality. Born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, though she was raised majorly in Detroit, Michigan, she started out her career as a vlogger on YouTube and then participated in season 13 of ''American Idol''. Her self-released song "Medicine" (2017) reached the top 50 of the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in 2018, and she was signed to Capitol Records. Alyssa Michelle Stephens (born December 22, 1998), professionally known as Latto or Big Latto (formerly known as Mulatto), is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. She first appeared on American rapper Jermaine Dupri's reality television series ''The Rap Game'' in 2016, where she was known as Miss Mulatto and won the show's first season, but she rejected the record deal offered as a result of winning the show. Brian Anthony Bailey (born September 14, 1974), best known under his stage name Hittman (acronym for ''Highly Intense Tongue Talents Make All Nervous''), is an American West Coast rapper, songwriter and record producer originating from Los Angeles, California. Career Hittman was signed into Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment label in 1998. The album-equivalent unit, or album equivalent, is a measurement unit in music industry to define the consumption of music that equals the purchase of one album copy. This consumption includes streaming and song downloads in addition to traditional album sales. The album-equivalent unit was introduced in the mid- 2010s as an answer to the drop of album sales in the 21st century. Album sales more than halved from 1999 to 2009, declining from a $14.6 to $6.3 billion industry. For instance, the only albums that went platinum in the United States in 2014 were the '' Frozen'' soundtrack and Taylor Swift's ''1989'', whereas several artists' works had in 2013.
