McKittrick is a unincorporated community in Kern County, California, United States. McKittrick is northwest of Taft, at an elevation of . The population was 115 at the 2010 census, down from 160 at the 2000 census.For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined McKittrick as a census-designated place (CDP). State Route 33 (SR 33) is a north–south state highway in the U.S. state of California. The South Belridge Oil Field is a large oil field in northwestern Kern County, San Joaquin Valley, California, about forty miles west of Bakersfield.
