Missionaries Of The Holy Spirit
The Missionaries of the Holy Spirit (MSpS) are a Catholic religious institute founded in Mexico City in 1914 by French missionary Félix de Jesús Rougier. Father Rougier was a priest and a member of another religious order, the Society of Mary. He would receive dispensation of his vows and permission to join the new congregation 12 years later. The institute is divided into three provinces: Province of Mexico, Félix de Jesús Province, and Christ the Priest Province. The community has 376 members in seven countries: Mexico, United States, Italy, Costa Rica, Spain, Chile and Colombia. Its members are distributed among 57 communities, 40 of which are in Mexico. Currently, there are five bishops, 256 priests, one permanent deacon and 15 professed religious brothers in the congregation. Francis Eugene George
Francis Eugene George (January 16, 1937 – April 17, 2015) was an American prelate of the Catholic Church. He was the eighth Archbishop of Chicago in Illinois (1997–2014) and previously served as bishop of the Diocese of Yakima and Archbishop of Portland. A member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, George was created a cardinal by Pope John Paul II in 1998. He served as president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) from 2007 to 2010. On September 20, 2014, Pope Francis accepted George's resignation and appointed Bishop Blase J. Cupich to succeed him as Archbishop of Chicago. In this unusual circumstance, George was permitted to remain as the incumbent archbishop until Cupich was installed to succeed him on November 18, 2014. Ricardo Watty Urquidi (July 16, 1938 – November 1, 2011) was a Mexican-American Roman Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Tepic in Nayarit, Mexico.
