Mission Bay High School
Mission Bay High School (MBHS), is a public high school located in the San Diego, California community of Pacific Beach. It is a magnet school with emphasis on Academic Studies. In Fall 2006, Mission Bay introduced International Baccalaureate courses that students could take to help them get their I.B. diploma. The Mission Bay High jazz program is home to the Award-winning and touring Mission Bay Preservationists, as well as the Mission Bay Mambo Orchestra, the only youth-Latin big band in California. The music program also includes a concert band, string orchestra, full-size symphonic orchestra, swing and concert choirs, and the aforementioned 2 jazz-bands. The music program has been taught by Jean-Paul Balmat since 2006, becoming Mission Bay High's music educator after a 2-year hiatus from 2004-2006. Skyline, San Diego
Skyline, also known as Skyline Hills or Skyline Park, is a hilly urban neighborhood in Southeastern San Diego. It is bordered by Encanto to the west, Jamacha-Lomita to the North East, and Bay Terraces to the South. The neighborhood is split into two sections, Skyline West and Skyline East. The neighborhood is part of the Skyline-Paradise Hills Community Planning Area. Ron Bushy
Ron Bushy (December 23, 1941 – August 29, 2021) was an American drummer best known as a member of the rock band Iron Butterfly and as the drum soloist on the band's iconic song "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", released in 1968 although performed in the band's earlier appearances. Bushy was the only member of the group to appear on all six of its studio albums. Career Iron Butterfly Previously playing in a band called the Voxmen, Bushy joined Iron Butterfly in 1966, following the band's relocation from San Diego to Los Angeles, replacing previous drummer Bruce Morse when he left due to a family emergency. Bushy became part of the group's classic lineup, along with vocalist and keyboardist Doug Ingle, guitarist Erik Brann, and bassist Lee Dorman. The Texas Rangers are an American professional baseball team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Rangers compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) American League West, West division. Matt Bush (baseball)
Matthew Brian Bush (born February 8, 1986) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Texas Rangers. He was drafted by the San Diego Padres with the first overall draft pick in the 2004 Major League Baseball draft. Due to numerous personal and legal problems, Bush had only played as high as Double-A, two steps below the Major League level, prior to his debut on May 13, 2016. He was traded by the Padres to the Toronto Blue Jays in 2009, but was released by the Blue Jays without ever playing for them. He then played for the Tampa Bay Rays organization before being released in 2012 after a drunk driving incident. He pleaded no contest to charges related to that incident in December 2012, and was sentenced to 51 months in state prison. Dillon Baxter
Dillon Baxter (born October 23, 1991) is a former American football running back and wide receiver. Early years Baxter prepped at Mission Bay Senior High School in San Diego, California, where he played quarterback, running back, and wide receiver as a senior. Mission Bay went 13–0 and won the CIF San Diego Division IV title in 2009. Baxter won the prestigious Silver Pigskin Trophy, awarded annually to San Diego County's most outstanding football player, chosen by KUSI television's Prep Pigskin Report. In addition, Baxter was a consensus High School All-American and also won the Hall Trophy. He chose to attend USC on an athletic scholarship. The Arizona Wildcats women's basketball program is the official women's basketball program at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Adia Oshun Barnes (born February 3, 1977) is an American basketball coach and former player. She is currently the head coach of the University of Arizona Wildcats women's basketball. She played at the collegiate level for the University of Arizona, and played seven seasons in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) with the Houston Comets, Seattle Storm, Minnesota Lynx, and Sacramento Monarchs.
