Miss USA 2000
Miss USA 2000 was the 49th Miss USA pageant, held at The Grand Palace, in Branson, Missouri on February 4, 2000. At the conclusion of the final competition, Lynnette Cole of Tennessee was crowned by outgoing titleholder Kimberly Pressler of New York. The pageant was held in Branson for the second and final time, at the 4,000 seat Grand Palace Theatre, and was the last pageant held in February. Lynnette Cole becomes the fifth former Miss Teen USA state delegate to win or inherit the Miss USA title in six years and the third to win it outright. Carson Daly hosted the event for the only time, and color commentary was added for the third time by Miss USA 1996 Ali Landry and Julie Moran. The Miss New York USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of New York in the Miss USA pageant. It is directed by D&D Productions. The current titleholder is Heather Nunez of New York City was crowned on June 4, 2022, at the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel in Niagara Falls, New York. Miss Michigan USA
The Miss Michigan USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Michigan in the Miss USA pageant. It is currently directed by Proctor Productions. Their first Miss USA victory was in 1990, and notable because Carole Gist was the first African-American to win the title. Following in her footsteps, Kenya Moore, also African-American, won the title in 1993. In 2010, Michigan's Rima Fakih became the first Arab-American to win the title. The most recent placement was Elizabeth Johnson in 2018, placed in top 15. Miss Iowa USA
The Miss Iowa USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Iowa in the Miss USA pageant. It is directed by Future Productions based in Savage, Minnesota since 2008. While Iowa has not been greatly successful in the past four decades, they were one of the most consistent states in the first decade of the pageant's existence. The second Miss USA to win the Miss Universe Crown was Carol Morris of Iowa in 1956. The most recent placement was Baylee Drezek in 2019, placing Top 15. Miss Kansas USA
The Miss Kansas USA pageant is a competition that selects the representative for the state of Kansas in the Miss USA pageant. The pageant is directed by Vanbros and Associates, headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas. In 1992, the state joined the Vanbros group, under the directorship of Miss Kansas 1998 Jennifer Vannatta-Fisher. Kansas did not place at Miss USA until 1973, the third-to-last state to make their first placement. From then, no delegate from Kansas made the cut until 1991, when Kelli McCarty won the crown. McCarty's win makes Wichita, Kansas the only state to host one Miss USA and Miss Teen USA to win in their home state. Miss Georgia USA
The Miss Georgia USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Georgia in the Miss USA pageant. This pageant is directed Greenwood Productions under the ownership of Miss Tennessee USA 1989 Kim Greenwood and it is hosted in McDonough, Georgia. Georgia has had a fair success at Miss USA, and has yet to win the title. The best placement was Erin Nance, who placed 1st runner-up in 1993, and many 2nd and 4th runner-ups. Miss New Hampshire USA
The Miss New Hampshire USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of New Hampshire in the Miss USA pageant. It was directed by The Clemente Organization based in Malden, Massachusetts from 2013 to 2019. GDB Theatre and Pageant Productions became the new directors for the event starting from 2020 competition. New Hampshire has had little success at Miss USA that was not yet placed until 1962, the fifth-to-last state has made its ever placement, and has only placed five times.
