Miss USA 1975 was the 24th Miss USA pageant, televised live by CBS from Niagara Falls, New York on May 17, 1975. The pageant was won by Summer Bartholomew (who later went to work with Jim Perry on ''Sale of the Century'' on NBC from 1983 to 1989) of California, who was crowned by outgoing titleholder Karen Morrison of Illinois. Bartholomew was the third woman from California to win the Miss USA title, and went on to place as 2nd runner-up at Miss Universe 1975. Summer Bartholomew
Robin Summer Bartholomew (born in Merced, California) is an American actress, television personality and beauty pageant titleholder who won the Miss USA 1975 pageant. Her first pageant experience came in 1973 when she won the Miss Heineken title. She then won the Miss California USA title in 1975 and went on to win the Miss USA crown. She competed at the Miss Universe 1975 pageant held in El Salvador and placed second-runner up to winner Anne Marie Pohtamo of Finland. Bartholomew also served as a judge for the Miss USA pageant from 1977 to 1982. She is also known for her career on game shows. Mary-Margaret Humes
Mary-Margaret Humes is an American actress. She won the Miss Florida USA pageant and was third runner up in the 1975 Miss USA. Humes later began working as a television actress, appearing in a more than 50 shows, most notable playing Gail Leery, the title character's mother in the WB drama series ''Dawson's Creek'' from 1998 to 2003. Life and career Humes was born at Mercy Hospital in Watertown, New York. She attended Watertown High School ('72) and competed as Miss Thousand Islands in the 1974 Miss New York State contest. Miss USA 1960 was the 9th Miss USA pageant, won by Linda Bement of Utah who later became Miss Universe 1960. She was crowned by Miss USA 1959, Terry Huntingdon of California. Miss Universe 1967, the 16th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 15 July 1967 at the Miami Beach Auditorium in Miami Beach, Florida, United States. Miss USA 1967 was the 16th Miss USA pageant, won by Sylvia Hitchcock of Alabama. She was crowned by Miss USA 1966, Maria Remenyi of California. It took place at the Miami Beach Auditorium in Miami Beach, Florida on May 20, 1967. Hitchcock won Miss Universe 1967 two months later, her 2nd runner-up Cheryl Patton of Florida later became Miss USA because the 1st runner-up refused the title. Sylvia Hitchcock
Sylvia Louise Hitchcock-Carson (January 31, 1946 – August 16, 2015) was an American model and beauty queen who held the title of Miss Alabama United States and Miss United States, and was crowned Miss Universe 1967. Personal life Hitchcock was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts and grew up on a chicken farm in Miami, Florida. She attended Palmetto High School, Miami-Dade Junior College and studied art at the University of Alabama. A junior at the University when she won the Miss USA title, Hitchcock chose not to complete her degree. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority. Hitchcock married William Carson, the inventor of a fruit harvesting machine, in 1970. They had three children, Jonathan, Christianne and Will, and seven grandchildren. Miss Virginia USA
The Miss Virginia USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Virginia in the Miss USA pageant. Virginia has been only moderately successful in terms of number of semi-finalists. They have had two Miss USAs. They are one of only four states to have had two Miss USAs in succession (the others being Illinois, Texas, and District of Columbia). Virginia's greatest success came from the late 1960s to early 1980s. Virginia should have had the first Miss USA crown in 1954, as Ellen Whitehead finished 1st runner-up, and Miss USA 1954, Miriam Stevenson, became Miss Universe 1954. Miss New Jersey USA
The Miss New Jersey USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the U.S. state, state of New Jersey in the Miss USA pageant. It is produced by D&D Productions. New Jersey has yet to win the Miss USA title, although from 1989 to 1991 they had two 2nd runners-up and one 1st runner-up in a row. Two years later, another Miss New Jersey USA placed in the finals, and in 2008, Tiffany Andrade finished as 2nd runner up, one of three Miss New Jersey USAs to place third at Miss USA. Miss Missouri USA
The Miss Missouri USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state Missouri in the Miss USA pageant. It is directed by Vanbros and Associates, based in Lenexa, Kansas. In 1993, Missouri joined the Vanbros group of state pageants for the Miss USA and Teen USA system. Missouri has had only one Miss USA, Shandi Finnessey, who placed as 1st runner-up to Jennifer Hawkins of Australia in the Miss Universe 2004 pageant. The Miss Kentucky USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Kentucky in the Miss USA pageant. It is currently directed by Proctor Productions and it was formerly directed by Connie Clark Harrison, Miss Kentucky USA 1976. Tara Conner became the first Kentucky delegate to win Miss USA, after being crowned Miss USA 2006. She later finished as fourth runner-up at Miss Universe 2006. The Miss Indiana USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Indiana in the Miss USA pageant and the name of the title held by those representatives. This pageant is currently produced by Crown Moxie. The pageant is currently held in Noblesville and has previously been hosted by Anderson, Michigan City, Indianapolis, Carmel and Fort Wayne. The most recent placement was Alexis Lete in 2020, who finished 3rd runner-up.
