Miss Teen USA 1992
Miss Teen USA 1992, the 10th anniversary of the Miss Teen USA pageant, was televised live from the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi on 25 August 1992. At the conclusion of the final competition, Jamie Solinger of Iowa was crowned by outgoing queen Janel Bishop of New Hampshire. Jamie is the first Miss Teen USA from Iowa. This marks the first (and so far only time) a candidate did not compete. In this case, Miss DC Teen USA was unable to go to Biloxi at the time being. The pageant was hosted by Dick Clark for the third of four years, with color commentary by Leeza Gibbons in her third and final year, and Miss Teen USA 1990 Bridgette Wilson, for the only time. Jamie Solinger
Jamie Grimes ( née Solinger formerly Patterson, born c. 1975) is an American model and beauty queen who became the first and so far only woman from Iowa to capture the Miss Teen USA crown and placed third runner-up to Mrs America 2005. Modeling career Solinger started modeling through a Miss Caboodles competition sponsored by Teen Magazine. She placed as one of six regional finalists and was flown to Santa Monica, CA for a week long photo shoot. Another regional finalist there was Julee Kleffman, Miss Illinois Teen USA '92. Upon returning to Iowa, Jamie was signed with Ford New York. While with Ford, she worked for magazines such as Seventeen and Glamour. Miss Maryland Teen USA
The Miss Maryland Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Maryland in the Miss Teen USA pageant. Maryland did not place at Miss Teen USA until 1992, but since then this state has been quite successful, including earning four runner-up placements, and a winner in 2010. Seven Maryland teens have gone on to win the Miss Maryland USA title, and two competed at Miss America. Soniya Krishan of Wheaton was crowned Miss Maryland Teen USA 2022 on May 15, 2022 at Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Rockville. Miss Indiana Teen USA
The Miss Indiana Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Indiana in the Miss Teen USA pageant. This pageant is currently produced by CROWN MOXIE, LLC headed by JScot Reid. It was formerly produced by MOXIE Media Productions and Sanders & Associates based in Buckhannon, West Virginia before MOXIE Media Productions. Indiana had a slow start at Miss Teen USA, and did not place until 1991. That placement became the first of a four-year streak, which included three semi-finalist and one 1st runner-up placings. Six Indiana teens have gone on to win the Miss Indiana USA crown, more than most other states. The most successful of these, Kelly Lloyd, who achieved Indiana's highest ever Miss Teen USA placement also went on to earn one of Miss Indiana USA's highest placements in 2002. Miss Illinois Teen USA
The Miss Illinois Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Illinois in the Miss Teen USA pageant. It is directed by Vanbros and Associates and is previously directed by D&D Productions from 2001 to 2014 before becoming part of Vanbros organization in 2014, headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas. Illinois is in the top fifteen states in terms of number and value of placements over the twenty-three years of the Miss Teen USA competition. Illinois ties with Florida and North Carolina for the most Miss Photogenic awards won at Miss Teen USA (3) and has won more awards than any other state. Like the Miss USA Pageant, Illinois went on to win the Miss Teen USA title in the second edition of the pageant. Miss North Carolina Teen USA
The Miss North Carolina Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of North Carolina in the Miss Teen USA pageant and is part of the RPM Productions group. North Carolina has been moderately successful at Miss Teen USA, but has never won the title. Their best placement was in 1987, 2006 and 2016 when Peggy Blackwell, Melissa Lingafelt and Emily Wakeman placed first runner-up respectively. North Carolina's greatest success came from the mid-1980s to early 1990s. Their most recent placement came in 2018, when Kaaviya Sambasivam placed fourth runner-up. The Miss California Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of California in the Miss Teen USA pageant. It was formed in 1983. This pageant is part of the Miss USA Organization, owned by Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart. California is in the top five most successful states at Miss Teen USA in terms of number and value of placements. Miss Alabama Teen USA
The Miss Alabama Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Alabama in the Miss Teen USA pageant and the name of the title held by that winner. Alabama's success at Miss Teen USA has improved in recent years, with eight teens making the cut, although none have placed higher than 4th runner-up until 2016. That placement went to Anna Mingus, who also won Miss Congeniality, Alabama's only special award until Erin Snow won Miss Photogenic in 2016. Mingus later took the title Miss Alabama USA in 1995, and is one of only three Alabama teens to win a Miss USA state title. Danni Boatwright Wiegmann (born Danielle E. Miss Kansas Teen USA
The Miss Kansas Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Kansas in the Miss Teen USA pageant. This pageant has been part of the Vanbros organisation since 1992, and in 2006, they celebrated their fifteen-year anniversary with a reunion of former titleholders at the 2007 pageant. For the first time, all the judges for both the Miss Kansas USA and Miss Kansas Teen USA pageants were former titleholders from the Vanbros states: Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Nebraska. The Miss Oklahoma Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Oklahoma in the Miss Teen USA pageant. This pageant is directed by Vanbros and Associates, headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas. In 1997, Oklahoma joined the Vanbros group of state pageants for the Miss USA and Teen USA system. Oklahoma is in the top 5 most successful states at Miss Teen USA in terms of number and value of placements. Oklahoma's best performance came in the 1980s through the early 1990s. The Miss Iowa Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Iowa in the Miss Teen USA pageant, which is co-owned by the Miss USA Organization by Crystle Stewart. This pageant is produced by Future Productions, LLC which also produces state pageants for Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Colorado, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
